Black series Kylo helmet. Anyone else have an over sensitive mic?

Very happy with how this looks... But if you so much as breathe on the mic it sounds like all the devils in hades are descending!!! Do I have a dodgy one or are they all like this? If I hold the helmet ten inches from my face it sounds amazing though.... If its a common feature, have I missed anything, or has anyone been able to reduce the mic sensitivity at all.... Any help is appreciated!
 
I don't own one, but have you tried to wrap the mic with a cloth? That ought to reduce its sensitivity.
 
I have tried some cloth yes.... The feedback from it being there makes the helmet shriek like a banshee! I'll try and get someone pics up soon
 
I bought this and returned it. It was underwhelmed by the quality of it. Now I'm thinking of waiting till a sale then maybe getting one to mod down the road. Depends on the sale.
