Get the exclusive, I never even display mine with the sword.

As far as value goes, I dont ever see this piece, exc. or regular, getting much more than retail. it just doesnt have the fan base and Sideshow produced too many.

I dont give a ^^^^ though because I will never sell mine, never :devil

I decided to go ahead and keep the Darkness I got during the BBTS sale, and it arrived today! It might have been nice to get the exclusive, but I actually like the sword pretty well. This thing is huge! It's my first PF, too. I guess Darkness is going to be bigger than a normal human in 1/4 scale would? How tall do you think something like Indy would be relative to Darkness?

The paint work overall is very good. The skin is perfect. I did find what looked to be some tiny white scratches on his arm where the paint had apparently been rubbed off. It's not nearly bad enough to make me want to return it, so I just touched it up with a little paint I mixed myself. You'd never be able to see where they were now. I also didn't like the way his teeth were a little blotchy, so I fixed that as well. He looks amazing now.

Does anyone know where you can get a smallish version of the Legend movie poster? Something that I could hang behind him on my shelf?

the lsb sure sold out quickly. the es for the pf ex is 500. not too large. how many busts did they make?

I think 100 because it had the low quantity thing on the order page when it first went up.

I am getting the bust too. surely it's more than 100 though because they are being sold by etailers and there isn't an exclusive version.

i would have said get the exclusive so you have the option of choosing either way to display it. i actually like diplaying the sword hand more than the unicorn one but i do display the unicorn hand and for me it was a must have option.

That's silly, it could have come damaged to you. I had to return my first Darkness PF because it came damaged. Second one is minty, just wished his hand holding the snake scepter was more held in place. I mean mine goes in all the way, but I dare not tough it in fears it may fall off. Maybe I may put some tape around it to make it a tighter fit. :)

Congrats on the score... he's an impressive piece.

Other 1/4 figures are typically around 18" tall (if standing) and you can add a bit for the height of the base (Indy'd probably be around 20"). So, Darkness is definitely a big one... but I think since he's still based on the height of Tim Curry as the character (on stilts, etc) he's would still be in scale with other PFs.

Not sure about the poster, sometimes people on eBay make stuff like that. Or there are online poster makers that can do it.

Yup, Darkness was a dream come true!

Actually Sideshow making the Darkness PF was the only reason I didnt go to California and burn their building to the ground.

After the whole Origins Kurgan thing I was kinda bitter.

Yeah, that's pretty crazy. Seven of Nine looks so plain compared to Darkness. The sculpt and tailoring on him are amazing. Easily the best PF I've ever owned.

Most people do tend to favor him in my collection over my big item pieces. And I have the Iron Man comiquette, T-800 Arnold 1:1 bust, the SS 1/4 Endoskeleton, Captain America PF, Hulk PF, and the list goes on.

He definitely is an eye catcher!

Darth Waller, Eli 26, Beerbelly, I know what you all are saying. I own this PF myself, the exc version, and I am amazed at the work that went into this.

I remember the hype with this, and how it was going to be a big financial gain for collectors.

I think that part of the problem with this piece is that it is a "devil" and it just gives too much of the "evil" feeling to some. I know, the Predator is this also, but there is compassion for this character, especially when it teamed up with a human lady in the movie to battle the Aliens. At that point it became a hero is some ways, and many more people were drawn to it. Not the same can be said for this bad boy PF. Yet, it is indeed one of the most detailed and attention paid to sculpts. It really is a piece of collectable art.

I love this PF, but I just don't feel right having a statue honoring the Devil. I am 100% my grandmother would not approve, But she loves the Arnold 1:1 cause we watched it together when I was a small boy:D

I was also about to mention this. People who didn't know the character would just walk into my house, look at Darkness and then turn their heads to look at me with their eyebrows raised up all at once.

Why would you think you wouldn't be able to sell it if it was open? The value of PFs doesn't change much if opened, and in fact being able to see what's actually inside is preferable to many people to buying a sealed piece.

I think probably one of the only PF's that can compare to Darkness as far as the sheer difficulty of the sculpt; the intricate and minute detail of the clothing will be the upcoming Blackbeard PF. I wish more PF's could be like those two when it comes to quality

Yes, the exc. is the only way to go with Darkness.

Since he was free and you techinacally wouldnt be loosing money, you should sell him to me for price of shipping :)

It really depends where you go. Before I opened my business in San Diego I was a Truck Driver and I actually loved cruising through NM and having a drink at the biker bars. But yeah some parts do suck ***.

I have the EX which really is a must have. That severed unicorn horn is badass!

My friend's mother who owns a Santeria store finally got her Darkness exclusive PF. She is ecstatic because this is the one she wanted the most. The seller didn't have the box so he gave her a sweet deal.

On a side note. The only thing that tripped me out about this piece was that it hit Second Chance and stayed there for quite awhile. I thought that was a travesty for such an awesome PF. :mad:

From what I can tell there is lots of Kurgan fans on this site including myself. Since you've been here a lot longer you should gather all the Kurgan fans that you know of and then all of you contact Sideshow to make that ^^^^ happen. Do anything....start a petition, email or something.

Even though I am a much bigger fan of the 1/6 scale I would pick PF.

Origins Kurgan in 1/4 scale :drool

Would be to amazing for words!

PF would be my choice.

PF would be kool no doubt but as 1:6 he can kick the *** of all your other figs. Image the photos... Instructing Luke in the ways of terror, decapitating House, drinking a beer with Spinal Tap! :rock

Plus he'd fit in with your other Highlander figs.

Hoping this is the primary LoD PF thread. How come it's not talked about anymore. One of the best PF's ever made imho. Just wanted to share this recent pic of mine for I've never seen anyone else pose the cape this way. Enjoy.

Its a lovely picture of the Lord Tabula! :hi5: Cape looks very elegantly posed. I've been meaning to post pic of mine as i've customised the crotch area. I tried to see if the gold plated crotch was indeed movie accurate but i couldnt see any pictures of this. Therefore i've covered the crotch in soft black fur like material and looks fantastic. I just didnt like the gold crotch look at all

I think the main reason this PF isn't discussed is it came out quite a long time ago. Once things are long sold out they kind of drift to the back of the pack. But I agree, it's one of Sideshow's best PFs :rock
