has anyone seen this new "superman" figure popping up on ebay? it's supposed to be the george reeves version, but for the price($188) i'm seeing too many errors to pull the trigger on this one. the cape looks bad, the neck line is too high, the boots and belt are wrong and the sculpt looks very generic.
anyone gonna buy one of these figures? the guy put 2 up yesterday and they both sold and now he's listed 2 more.

Overpriced and inaccurate plus I believe (not sure) there are no feet on the body, just boots over a stub as they did with their hands and feet with their West Batman...
If you need a decent one with very accurate hand made outfit I recommend contacting Steve Ledford...

The first one looks more like Steven Seagal than George to me. Anyway,I am more than working on him. The second sculpt has been molded and has exceeded my hopes. Even my wife is impressed(no small accomplishment there!). I've got a base coat on the "hero" head, but I can still try to grab a few pix and post 'em tomorrow...PS

they're nice. but they don't look right for the version this figure represents. for me to spend $200 on a figure, it better not have any flaws.:lol
this figure looks more like a mixture of different versions of the character.

As promised, here are pix of 'George v.2'. These are of the wax pattern, which was slightly stained by the mold catalyst. He wasn't quite working until I adjusted him to be a 1 part cast with a full neck. Once I did that(with his rather distinctive 'underjaw')he was suddenly there...

Looking heroic. One thing I've noticed that no one else has gotten is the part in his hair; it shows up in most stills and very clearly when you see the episodes(which I now have all of, purely for research, of course).I'm very pleased with him now;the time I invested has paid off handsomely. Now I just need to get him painted and onto his body...PS

Is that the sound of potential commerce I hear in the background?...PS

I bought an artoftoy Keaton Batman that looked good in the photos but was just atrocious in person. Despite paying over $200 for it, I ended up cannabalizing it for parts.

i bought a punching bag set that I thought was there own custom, instead its actually of another smaller company that only charged half of what they did... >.>
but yeah I have heard of the talk about their inconsistent products. But do you think they actually have some kind of a factory?
wax murderer: that's ne impressive wax piece there. i wish I could try wax out soon but its a bit too intimidating as it's always been but once i get a good money saved up, i'll try it , your sculpt looks real smooth

Thanks for the feedback, gang. It's nice when one's work is appreciated.
Capt. ,you'll have to take that up with her, but the odds are not promising. My figure will be wearing a modified Capt. Action Supes costume, with a custom belt and Classic Plastik boots. The main mods to the stock costume were the replacement of the foil shield and the cape. Otherwise, it's unchanged. You can find one(or 20) on Ebay.
Wax isn't hard to work with. I was introduced to it when I started working in a pro model shop, and have been happily using it ever since. It's an industry standard; I made a point of accumulating a stockpile for myself, as well as the formula the shop uses. One of the nice things about it is the ultra smooth finish that is possible;with a little time, it can be polished to a glassy finish. So don't be afraid of it. Working in wax is really very easy, and you won't regret taking the plunge...PS
