February 9, 2007, Burbank, Ca. – Gentle Giant Ltd. announces a new partnership with Microsoft and Bungie Studios, that will bring fans of the best selling Halo franchise a series of high end collectibles and figures. Halo is a premier title for the Xbox platform, with the eagerly awaited third installment in the trilogy currently in development by Bungie Studios.

Gentle Giant plans a full slate of collectibles that will entrance casual Halo gamers and hardcore Halo fans alike. The license spans the Halo trilogy, meaning that Gentle Giant will produce a range of products from the entire series, including:



* 3-inch block figures (produced under the official Kubrick name in partnership with Japanese toy giant Medicom, pioneers of the block figure category),
* 12-inch collectible figures
* resin mini-busts, and
* 1/4-scale mixed material statues

I'm all for more companies jumping on the PF bandwagon - but exactly what characters in Halo would be cool in mixed media? Master Chief is the only human right? He'd be fine fully sculpted.

I'm very curious what the 12" figures will be like, i'd love a proper 12" master chief, cloth undersuit, nicely done armor... it'd be so sweet.

As for PF type things, what they could do with mixed media, depends on what they want to do with it, the aliens could have a mix of sculpt/armor not alot of cloth unless they used something like PVC for some parts, or real fur:

Awesome news, not interested in the PFs or busts though, will see how the 12 inch statues look.

I just read the news that the Halo Master Chief will be a fully poseable 1:6 scale cloth + armor figure!!!!

Gentle Giant and Medicom will be working together to bring fans of the X-box HALO game series new figures this year.

The BIG announcment (and one of the most demanded figures in recent 1/6 scale history) is a 12" Masterchief. Gentle Giant has been working directly with Microsoft and will base the figure on his appearance in the forthcoming HALO 3 video game. The 1/6 scale alien-killing space soldier will include a super-posable 12" body, a black cloth body suit, and the unique Spartan armor for which he's so well known...

Gentle Giant will also be importing Medicom's HALO Kubricks. The block figure series will include Masterchief, numerous Spartan variants and other characters from the successful game.

Look for these figures to hit stores in conjuction with HALO 3's release. More photos and information as it becomes available....

Hmmm, I guess I'm the only Halo and 1:6 scale fan here. I hope Gentle Giant doesn't stop with the one Mjolnir armor, they could make a few variants I'd buy.
I also hope they make some Marines and a Elite.

no i will also pick up most of the stuff. i probably won't buy the elites or brutes, but the chief for sure, and possibly other marines or shocktroopers. i do have the Legendary edition on reserve from Gamestop so i will be getting a 1:4 scale helmet with the game. i cant wait for that because i think it will rock sitting on my desk next to my 360.
