The missing Sideshow Weta statues

Having almost completed my task of getting a complete Sideshow Weta statue collection, I have put together a list for myself with all the items and item numbers.

Now, while all the "regular" statues have numbers from 9301 through 9346 with no gaps in between, there are some gaps in the numbering of the Sideshow Exclusive statues.

These have the numbers 8701 through 8709, but with the following gaps:

8704 (taken by Sauron's Mace)
8705
8708


Does anybody have any information about the "missing" exclusive statues 8705 and 8708?

(Just out of curiosity...) :cool:

The same goes for the environments, the gaps are:

9706 and 9708 - any ideas?

Well, the environments are probably the Hobbiton Mill and Moria Cemetery, which never saw production past the design phase.

Don't know about the statues, though. Could have been armored Lurtz, which we all know later became Uglük. I can't th ink of any others that were never produced, though...

You forget there was a plan for a Gil-Galad statue, and a High-Elven Elf. I could be wrong, but they were stated in the original roster.

But that is quite misleading, Butterbar, Arwen on steed and others were also "proposed." I think things got much more concrete after those intial stages.

I would limit it to items we actually "saw":

1) The Argonath

2) Moria cemetary

3) Lurtz

4) Mini Shields

Though the post didn' generate much interest, if you would like I can send you the excel file which I have prepared on my own concerning all the SSW pieces... in the order of the item #, so you will know which ones are missing..

I don't think I will ever be a completist of the full Sideshow Weta range as yourself, but I am only two statues away from a complete statue and environment collection :banana (My 12" and PF collection is also complete at the moment, but that was not so hard to accomplish...)

One day I will convince you all that there were never any mini shields. I firmly believe they were intended to be used on full statues..

I think the missing exclusives are Tom Bombadil and naked Frodo tied up in Cirith Ungol :D :D
