Ok so in the vein of pix's Experiment threads, and his frustration of seeing his seemingly come last, I decided that I would gladly host the Jabba/Throne one so we can see just where we all stand, especially with split shipments. If you posted in the other threads with dates and times please post here also. You know the drill, Username Date and Time of order and location. Also, I will not be asking for the Processing changes because mine currently say it and Im sure others do as well. The color updates will begin with Shipping Soon, Shipped and then Recieved.

PS. If not denoted I will assume the times provided are for both Jabba and his throne.

I don't think we will ever get a final count on an inclusive item. We were never told how many Darth Mauls were made.

The point of an inclusive is that it stays up for a certain amount of time and everybody who wants one gets one. I think the unspoken rule is that they will never reveal to us exactly how many people placed an order during the sale window. Many of us would be very interested to know the exact numbers, but so far that information has been kept in the top secret Sideshow vault.

But the regular Maul (limited to 9000 pieces) is sold out, while the inclusive edition is available as a second chance offer. I have a hunch that there are a LOT of them out there. A regular Maul may indeed be more harder to find than an inclusive.

I TOTALLY agree with you Turbo. Seems like those of us that ordered at SDCC have not been pre-authed. So much for 1st dibs:confused: .

Oh well, when he comes he comes. I will only be upset if SDCC orders are on a later shipment (like 3rd or 4th). That will REALLY irk me. I have been VERY pleased with SideShow thus far, but putting off the SDCC orders until later will put a dent in my faith with them.

That's all fine and good but the people that took the time to order from the shows should ship first as well as processed first. Part of the bonus for ordering at the show before everyone else.

Edit: One thing is the office it appears according to the site closed for the majority of the day so that could explain it. I'm not gonna freak by anymeans but I want mine ASAP. :lol

Were you actually charged or are you talking about the Pre-Auth? Because my bank usually shows the pre-auth amounts under "Check Card Holds" until the item is actually shipped and charged then it shows up in my regular statement.

You likely won't actually be charged until it is completely processed and shipped. I checked mine again this AM and it's still listed under "Check Card Holds", which means it's been pre-authorized but hasn't been officially charged or shipped yet. My status on SideshowToy.com says "Item(s) Shipping Soon".

Either way, it won't be long. :chew

Patience is not one of my stronger vitrues. I've had one shipping meltdown back when the ML was shipping. From then on I try to be patient but this will test me and when the Maul PF ships in the future that will really test me. :lol

Were you actually charged or are you talking about the Pre-Auth? Because my bank usually shows the pre-auth amounts under "Check Card Holds" until the item is actually shipped and charged then it shows up in my regular statement.

You likely won't actually be charged until it is completely processed and shipped. I checked mine again this AM and it's still listed under "Check Card Holds", which means it's been pre-authorized but hasn't been officially charged or shipped yet. My status on SideshowToy.com says "Item(s) Shipping Soon".

Yes, IrishJedi, I haven't actually been "charged" from Sideshow yet. This is just the "pre-auth" amount of the estimate of shipping to me here in Nebraska. Forty dollars or close to that amount was what I was told from Kathy (I hope it's Kathy with a K):o This "pre-auth" amount will be in limbo with my checking account for the next few days (until it's then re-credited to my account). I've bought quite a few from SS, so I know there system of "pre-auths" and final charges but I do appreciate the help.
With something this costly, I had to know how many $$$'s to have in my checking account.
Ah, and need to check my new status with Sideshow.

It's a lot more equal opportunity online though, it's not perfect, but a larger ammount of people can get to a computer for order time better than going to a convention hundreds of miles away at a great expense. If I could afford it I'd go to all the conventions but that's a lot of money and I think it'd be a pretty bum deal if a company said anyone who can't afford the expense isn't entitled to equal treatment as those that are.

$369 seems to be the going total for the throne + Jabba + shipping. They just lumped the shipping for both in that $169 charge. No need to call.

Friday I deposited $360 dollars. So I pretty much saticfied with the $369.00.

It's funny how things changed since order time, originally I had

Jabba - $132
Throne - $220

Now the balance has skewed to Jabba being a bit more costly and the throne being less, they must have overestimated the weight on the throne significantly or something. Oh well, I was nervous about the total so I'm happy with the numbers everyone is tossing around, and I could have done $400 but $370 is even safer. I hope I get a ship notice tomorrow cuz FedEx for me is always an exact week from ship to door, so that'd make Jabba a nice consilation V-day present to myself :)

Right now I have grand total of 1993 points. When all of my preorders ship I will have $100 to spend in points. They are basically giving everyone 1/20th of every purchase made back to the customers.

Same here. I almost feel punished for ordering at SDCC. We don't get point and probably the last boat. :rolleyes: Heck, if I go this year I might just wait to order them online. I suppose that the attendees could have placed our orders online like everybody else to get those points--but we didn't know at the time!! It was nice to sit out those post SDCC priority preorders, but I would surely have ordered that way if I had known about all the points I would be missing by ordering at SDCC.

Maybe they will make sure that since we all lost out on the points, the SDCC orders will ship first to make up for it, since we were the first to order.

SDCC orders were the first people to order, but according to what I'm seeing here and in the RS threads, SDCC orders weren't entered in the system until days after the inclusive window opened to the public, and it seems like the pre-auths and everything is going by the order numbers and dates in the system. I'd say if they do similar at this year's SDCC, to give the orders shipping priority they should come up with some way to flag the order as different from any other in the system so if they don't get to it for days it'll still work out for the people who put the effort to get in line and all.

Josh, have you not noticed me spazzing out about getting Jabba the last 3 weeks :) Many of us are on the edge of insanity waiting for him. The real trouble with Jabba orders and which ones go out first is cuz this is the first time, at least that we've been notified, that items are in split shipments, you could get like 10 Bib boxes to one Jabba or throne, so it's a different scenario, and as much as he is costly, it's still possible the inclusive numbers were huge, we'll just never know on that one. Just keep thinking about seeing that beautiful Maul PF you and I will get to see/order in another week :)

I'm definitely glad that we were able to place one order for absolutely everything on the very first morning and then enjoy the show for the next three days.

I just remember them saying that in 2006, to avoid problems like with the Doom PF in '05 (where the online orders plus the show orders exceeded the total edition size and they had to increase it), they were going to have a computer at the booth so that the orders could be entered in real time and the system would be updated immediately.

Even though my order didn't appear to be entered until August, I still received Bib and Salacious right away, and so I have hope for Jabba. Here's a timeline:

July 20, 2006: I place my order for the entire Jabba setup at SDCC.
July 21, 2006: The online inclusive order for Salacious and Jabba begins.
July 26, 2006: The online inclusive order for Salacious and Jabba ends.
August 3, 2006: My SDCC order finally appears online, dated 08/03/2006.
January 5, 2007: My Salacious is among the first to ship.

Josh, have you not noticed me spazzing out about getting Jabba the last 3 weeks :) Many of us are on the edge of insanity waiting for him. The real trouble with Jabba orders and which ones go out first is cuz this is the first time, at least that we've been notified, that items are in split shipments, you could get like 10 Bib boxes to one Jabba or throne, so it's a different scenario, and as much as he is costly, it's still possible the inclusive numbers were huge, we'll just never know on that one. Just keep thinking about seeing that beautiful Maul PF you and I will get to see/order in another week :)

I've noticed but I've also been trying to keep myself calm. :lol Well, some of us have dealt with split orders before in the SSW Line. They did that with the ML Statue and Sauron for sure as along with a couple of others if memory serves me right. I went nutty on the ML statue just ask some of the other older members who where around. :rotfl Yeah, box size I'm sure is why they're doing split shipments. It's all good really. I just want mine. :lol I may really go nuts on Maul if I was in the second shipment. :rotfl :maul

I'm definitely glad that we were able to place one order for absolutely everything on the very first morning and then enjoy the show for the next three days.

I just remember them saying that in 2006, to avoid problems like with the Doom PF in '05 (where the online orders plus the show orders exceeded the total edition size and they had to increase it), they were going to have a computer at the booth so that the orders could be entered in real time and the system would be updated immediately.

Even though my order didn't appear to be entered until August, I still received Bib and Salacious right away, and so I have hope for Jabba. Here's a timeline:

July 20, 2006: I place my order for the entire Jabba setup at SDCC.
July 21, 2006: The online inclusive order for Salacious and Jabba begins.
July 26, 2006: The online inclusive order for Salacious and Jabba ends.
August 3, 2006: My SDCC order finally appears online, dated 08/03/2006.
January 5, 2007: My Salacious is among the first to ship.

Here's an idea for future SDCC pre-orders...

Just have 3-4 PCs set up and enter orders right then and there on an Ordering page exclusive to the Con. Then, when the actual "public" or PPO pre-order is open simply merge the orders together, with the SDCC orders being first.

Companies do this kind of thing all the time with event tickets and the like. It can be done.

Well, I just talked with a friend and was told SDCC Orders are bieng processed for the first wave. Some folks are doing the reguler website and some are doing the SDCC Orders. So SDCC orders are due in the first wave and now I get to look like an ass for acting like one. Someday, I swear I'll learn to be more patient.

SDCC orders were the first people to order, but according to what I'm seeing here and in the RS threads, SDCC orders weren't entered in the system until days after the inclusive window opened to the public, and it seems like the pre-auths and everything is going by the order numbers and dates in the system.

This thing is--they have more than one system. The online system is not the same as the in house system that actually processes the order. Sometimes your online account shows an order that already shipped as still pending. Or let's say you place an order by phone. The order is in their system immediately, but they don't update the online info until later. Another example--my Grey Hulk was accidentally cancelled from the online system, but when I checked up on it I was told that it was safe and sound in the actual system that processes the orders.

So it's not perfectly clear to me how the two systems interact, but we have seen hiccups before and I have learned that the important thing is not what it says online, but what it says in the system that actually processes the orders in the shipping department--and they don't always match. However, we can only see the online one, and so we get stressed out easily if we sense a problem.

I am sincerely thrilled to hear that they are making a point to process the SDCC orders at the head of the line, since they were placed a day before the inclusive window opened. First come, first served!!!

Yeah, I have no idea how the two work which is why most of the time when it comes to processing stuff I stay quiet. I end up looking goofy when I start *****ing like with this. Did that with the ML Statue and you'd think I'd have learned. We can tell those that were placed at Comic-Con by a certain designator in the in-house order system, and the processing team is beginning those today :chew But as usual, there are quite a few orders for the team to get through, so please have patience, as it will probably take at least 2 business days process those orders :duff

I am deffinately taking him out of the box at work and keeping him on my desk to enjoy and play with from time to time until the work day is over, then put him back in his box for safety, and take him home, and pull up a chair, throw in the ROTJ dvd, kick back, and enjoy my treasured piece and be taken away to the wonderful world GL created for all of us to escape to.

PICTURES!!! Lots of pictures, you wouldn't thing with a figure that can't really pose that there's much picture opportunity, but I'll find a way, there are many classic Jabba images stuck in my brain from things like the old Topps collector card set and various 80's promotional items, like my metal ROTJ lunchbox, which I still have, and the old booklet's that came with Kenner items like Hasbro does now, and believe it or not I somehow have a few in mint condition tucked away. I'll have to take a picture of all my Jabba's together, for the most part half of the collection is smaller so easier to round up, unlike my Maul collection which I do want to shoot someday but that'll almost take up a whole table top with everything.

It might be equal in a way, though Maul deffinately gets more merch in his image. As a whole, I love Star Wars because it is a visual feast, so many different creatures and characters it's great, and Jabba always stood out as a kid cuz he was the only really big, far out character that contributed to the plot so to speak, the Rancor was bigger but not so much an interactive character and no dialogue, but Jabba was a person and he was always so cool to watch, growing up I used to do 2 things most with immitating Star Wars, Vader's breath and Jabba's laugh. With Maul, it was a similar instance, he brought something to the table that was fresh and unique within Star Wars, or rather Ray Park did. The visual design of his face and head alone won me over in the 2 seconds of footage we got in the teaser trailer and in the cover issues of SW insider, then add to that the only double-bladed saber in the saga, an amazing costume, cool ship, sweet bike, hi-tech probes, killer kung-fu moves and you got an amazing Sith package, I was severely bummed when I found out he was going to die in TPM.

Well, obviously any shipment notice will get the heart going, but don't forget, unless you ask otherwise, Jabba being over $100 will be shipped through FedEx not UPS so we should all be on the lookout for FedEx shipping, luckily now, the Throne and Jabba are the only things close to shipping from anyone I've ordered items from, so I'll just have to be sure it's Jabba's order number in a ship notice, now if I could just get one tonight :)
