Having just benefited from being on the Legolas exclusive Wait List, my thoughts now shift to getting my Boromir Exclusive Wait list place converted into an order.

This week's newsletter announced that people on the Boromir Exclusive wait list are now being contacted.

Has anyone from this board had their Wait list converted yet? If so, when did you get on it.

I was really shocked that my Legolas order got converted... I added my name to the list mid January. I wonder if the exclusive Legolas will be available on "second chance."

I think a lot of poeple are dropping this line due to it's slow development, In my opinion that's a big mistake. Your chances should be just as good for Boromir. I ordered mine during the PPO, so I am in the clear!

You'll be fine. Most cancellations happen during shipping time so just be patient.

My Legolas wait list was converted and I'm very optomistic that my Boromir will too as well as my Faramir. I think all the people that are canceling their orders are gonna be kicking themselves come Toyfair and new additions are announced.

It's funny that you mention Faramir since it was his announcement that got me back in this line. I think he looks amazing! I cancelled all of my PPOs after seeing badly shot production photos of Aragorn. BIG mistake. :monkey2 :monkey2 :monkey2

But after seeing Faramir (which I do have a PPO :D ), I decided I wanted the Brothers of Gondor on my shelf. So, I immediately put my name on the Wait Line for Boromir. Then after scoring an Aragorn for $30, I decided I was going for the line full throttle. :monkey5 :monkey5 :monkey5

I haven't gotten a conversion on him yet... I put in my waitlist the same day as Legolas (I think it was 10/19). Fingers crossed... I feel pretty confident of my chances.

Especially since my Legolas and T-1000 both converted, and the T-1000 was placed a week or so after people were getting theirs in hand!

I just cancelled my Exclusive Boromir, so hopefully that will help out one of you. It looks like it's going to be an awesome figure, but I've got too many other things on my plate for this year. Being a grad student doesn't leave me a load of spare change for these things so I have to be somewhat conservative with what I pick up and with this being the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars, it's not easy.

I'm still on for Faramir though!

I got the Legolas Exc. from the waitlist and signed up on the waitlist for Boromir in Nov. I'm keeping my fingers crossed too. I cancelled my Faramir Exc. order....now I'm beginning to wonder if I made a mistake. But I had to have the Lord of Darkness Exc. and decided to just stick with the Fellowship 12 inch.

Not to be Johnny Raincloud or anything, but yeah it was a mistake. You will rue it forever. Of course, I am Faramir biased.................:rolleyes: (just kidding :cool: )

Seriously though, lots of people got converted with Legolas and Aragorn ,but now that people are beginning to see the quality of these figures in hand I thing fewer people will be cancelling on this line. The slow pace makes it easy to keep up, and the figures are just too lovely for words.

Does anyone know Sideshow's procedures for contacting people on the wait list? Do they contact people as orders are cancelled or do they wait until they have a group of items now available to waitlisters? I'm just wondering about that...

I think they contact in waves... so they don't do each one as they become available. When and if you get a conversion you'll recieve an email letting you know about 2 days before it becomes an official order (you can decline it at that point).

I never got an email for my Legolas exc. waitlist conversion. Just all of a sudden I got a shipping notice. Which of course, by that time it is too late to cancel. That was fine by me because I was happy to have him, but it was sort of surprising.

i think the wail list will be productive for quite a number of people and even if it isn't the legolas and aragorn excl. on ebay, on average, aren't selling for that much over what SS is selling them for.

Seems like EVERYONE that was on the wait list got a Legolas... even the REALLY late comers. I was half expecting to see the Exclusive Legolas to be offered as Second Chance.

Is there anyone STILL on the Exclusive Legolas waitlist?

I'm hoping for the same situation with Boromir but I think more people are keeping him... no perceived "chin" issues. :monkey3 :monkey3 :monkey3

In tonights newsletter they encouraged people to get on the waitlist for the exclusive... my guess is there are a lot of denied cards and cancelations. With Jabba and Fett coming in the same period of time I'm sure a lot of wallets are feeling a bit pinched.

If they don't close the waitlist then there is always hope... but it does take them forever to get to that point. Have you tried looking in Rebel Scum Sideshow for sale section? I've seen a number of Aragorns there for decent prices.

I'm not a member on RS so I have really looked on their board. I've checked this board and eBay recently. They don't seem to be going for too much above retail, I'm just hoping I can get it off the waitlist for the points since I missed out on them for Jabba and throne. :monkey2

I did that for Legolas as well...but it never converted for me...so Im going to try to get him in the secondary market later...

I cancelled as well.

I usually pay around 55-60 $ for 12" figures but I decided to drop the 12" line. I will continue the 1/4 line no matter how good the 12" figure is.

I just got an email today that my wait list reservation is going to be converted to an order! Yay! Boromir was the only one I missed for some reason when it went up for preorder (don't know why). Now bring on Faramir (and the next 1/6 announcement)!:D
You lucky devil you! I only got an announcement that my regular order was being processed.....no word from my wait list reservation for the exclusive....I'll keep my fingers crossed though and maybe it will come through at the last minute.

I honestly did not expect the postage to be that high, as polystone is a lot heavier. The outer box definitely did not help as it doubled the size of the parcel.
I will think twice next time.

I just cancelled my Boromir Excl.
Not that I don't like him, the shipping is the killer.
Received my Legolas Exclusive yesterday, and the delivery by FedEx to downunder Oz was only..............US $83.00! I don't think I can justify another shipment like that so soon.
The outer box was big enough to hold two 12" figures as well, so I reckon they could have been shipped together.
So there's another one available for the collectors on the waitinglist, good luck to you all!

I know what you are talking about, amonhen! Yes, shipping costs for international and European customers... one of my favorite subjects. I continue to beg SSC for combining my orders whenever possible, because shipping is so damned expensive and that is the only way to save some cash! Mostly they do combine the orders, but sometimes, even IF it's possible -time frame wise-, their processing system finds a way to prevent it: once an order is invoiced, it cannot be combined with other orders. I don't know the details of this, but I don't understand how SSC can let a "program" dictate them how their clients are served best... That being said, I know they do a lot for their clients, but imagine you are collecting the SW 12" line and the LotR 12" line, and you'd have to pay between $35 and $80 for each 12" to be shipped to you... And I'm not even *****ing about the taxes!

I don't have to have the orc head, although having the cloak would be nice. From what I've seen, Boromir looks great without it! In the end, I might just get the regular version.

If SS doesn't give us a new SW pre-order soon, I'm going to snatch up the whole LOTR bunch! :D

I'm waiting as well...

I think there could be a couple of issues that are different this time around compared to Legolas waitlist conversions (mine happened pretty quick too)..

Alot of folks were unhappy with Aragorn (why, I don't know...I think he's great) and that led to alot of nervous folks cancelling Legolas before he arrived...
There was alot of grumbling about Legolas' likeness and other issues...that is, until he arrived. Then the feedback did a 180 and he was praised alot around here...
Legolas also hit when alot of expensive items were showing up at once (eg: the Jabba items, T2), causing some folks to have to make some hard choices and cancel some things to keep from blowin' the bank....
The LOTR has been very slow in announcements and releases, causing some fans to hold on simply to have some great representation from LOTR from Sideshow in their collections...

All of that is merely speculation of course....with Sideshow just wrapping up a major appearance at ToyFair and prepping for a long summer of big announcements and con appearances, things may be a little slow in the warehouse right now.

I'm holdin' the faith alot of the waitlisters like myself will get a chance here...if not, the lesson learned is...pre-order everything you want! You can always cancel later and make some other waitilist person happy... :)

I think Boromir is marginally more popular than Legolas and there is little chance we'd see another Boromir (apart from Osgiliath - which I think is unlikely), whereas Legolas features all the way through the trilogy

I personally prefer Boromir by far - He goes on an emotional rollercoaster and major character change, whereas Legolas is just an arrogant Elf to start with and ends up a little less arrogant at the end of ROTK

At this stage, it's not how popular a character is compared to how well Sideshow did this figure. Ever since word came out that the sculpt kicks ass, this is pretty much the knee jerk reaction we're seeing, meaning hardly any conversions . . .

Well, finally gave up on Boromir and cashed in all my chips. :monkey2 Sold off my two other LOTR 12" inchers. Might regret it later, but don't want to play this waiting game anymore. (On a related note: They seem to hold their value much better than the Star Wars 12" inchers).

I was only going to get the 9 in the Fellowship anyway. But I thought that might take more years than I'm willing to wait. Hoping that a LOTR diorama series comes along and I can get the 9 that way. Good luck all!

Well, I fold.

My birthday is coming up next week and my kids REALLY wanted to get me a Sideshow figure for it. They are fullly aware of my desire for Boromir (since I am currently using a picture of the figure as wallpaper) and they told my wife that they REALLY wanted to be the ones to get it for me.

How could I say no? :D

So my wife and kids quietly purchased one from Ebay at a decent price (she didn't tell me what that price was but I'm not suppose to know how much). Although they found some regular ones at cheaper prices, my 7-year old son was EMPHATIC that dad only wanted the exclusive version.... that kid is a future Sideshow collector if ever there was one. :monkey3 :monkey3 :monkey3

So I officially cancel my Waitlist request. I hope the rest of you are successful to obtaining your Boromirs.

LOL that's just awesome! Reminds me of when I was a kid and my poor mother had to find a Ninja Turtle that I didn't already have--the woman is a saint, because she made a list of ALL MY TURTLES (100+) while I was at school, and then found two that I didn't have for my birthday!

I won the Legolas Ex. from a giveaway and I really liked it. So, I decided to go ahead and get myself Boromir.

Of course, I am looking for Aragorn now as well.

It's going to be a LONG time before he gets any SS LOTR figures... they are FAR too fragile for his "rough and tumble" life style. :D

I tried to unload my 12" LOTR Toybiz figures to him but he isn't interested. He thinks the most likenesses (especially Frodo) are off too much for him to play with them. And he is 7. :lol :rotfl :lol

Like I said before, I just received my Boromir as a birthday present (obtained through a seller on Ebay). Simply a stunning figure! You guys will not be disappointed with him. :monkey5 :monkey5 :monkey5

Cannot wait for Faramir. No waitlist for him, thankfully... I actually ordered him the first day. In fact, seeing him made me jump back on the wait lists for the rest of the line. :D

Keep your chin up, the waitlist seemed to move really slow with this figure. In the last newsletter Sideshow was encouraging people to get on it now! So my guess is there are figures to be had.

Mine converted and arrived monday! What a suprise! I didn't even read my fedex shipment whatever because I thought it was Sean Connery or Endor Troops. It was only when i got THREE fedex ship notices that i thought something was up.

Either way, I have a lot going on this week. Sideshow party!

Just got mine in the mail... a really cool figure. Even though I think he is the best so far, I think the likeness is still a bit off and I don't like odd hole in the orcs neck.

Yep. I was headed out the door at 7pm without any hope of Boromir arriving and the UPS guy shows up. This is the latest delivery I have ever gotten.
I just got home and I haven't had time to open him but he sure looks cool thru the plastic. Can't wait to get him displayed.

It wouldn't hurt. I got on the waitlist for the T-1000 2 weeks after he began shipping and it got converted right away. Also in the last newsletter Sideshow did encourage people to hop on the Boromir waitlist... thats usually a good indicator you'd get lucky!
