SELLER BEWARE!!!.....boombusterr is a Thief. Don't deal with him!

He has no post..and just became a member...and is private messaging anyone with a WTB thread..probably telling him he has the item..then takes your money. He doesn't have said item.

I already filled a claim thru paypal.

Please PM me...I don't want this thread to be deleted. I'm sorry for everyone that has to go thru this....and just to let ppl know..I already have 2-3 ppl pm'ing me about this guy.

I feel so ashamed to admit this, but he got me too :(. I was looking for GI Joe figures and said he had the figures. I guess I got too caught up in the moment :(. I'm out quite a lot of money.

At least I discovered this thread, and hopefully he doesn't scam anyone else. I paid using paypal and chose "pay for goods". I've never filed a claim before so I'm not really sure how to carry out the process.

Go to PayPal and click on transaction details. Then there's an option at the bottom to dispute and file a claim. It'll walk you through from there

He got me for sure. I let my guard down since I've had good interactions on this site and fell for it. Never again, claim has been filed.

I had a trade in the process with him...but when I asked him for a picture of it, he never responded. Thank you for posting this and really happy I did not send him any money.

Not worried about the refund as PayPal is good but it basically lets them fraudulently have access to funds early. I find it funny they are constantly viewing this thread but never responding. Silence says everything

I have had at least three different (?) people on here try to do this very thing with me. The first time I fell for it. But thankfully protected myself with Paypal (idiot guy must have figured, what, that I wouldn't get my money back?) so I got it taken care of, with a refund.

Gotta be careful on here. If they don't have solid feedback, best to take percautions.

why do scammers try this if people can just get money back from paypal? I dont get it

He got me too. Did he use the ebay trick on anyone else? Since he had no feedback here, I asked him for ebay feedback. He said he was gabecan1994 on ebay. I had him mail me from ebay account to prove that was him. It was a 100% positive feedback account with some large item sales in the past. But no activity in like last 6 months. Guess that should have worried me.

He can always create a new account here, but harder to steal/create ebay accounts with positive feedback. Wonder if I can report that to ebay somehow even though the fraud wasn't through them?

I wonder this same thing. Seems like it would be a waste of their time.

It's like check kiting basically. Someone does it because they need funds early (knowing they will have the funds for a few days to cover it) and also knowing the dispute process takes at least 14 days to get a resolution even if you escalate it right away. Sure the money will get taken back from them, but in instances where they need it a day or two early it's basically a payday loan or paycheck advance with no fees.
