What is the bigger blunder? Drag queen Anakins lips? Or the final finished version of Legolas and his wide jaw and over sized eyes? :chew

Do we really need threads like this?
BadMoon
01-18-2007, 01:29 PM
Why not? People definately are voicing concerns in the Legolas image thread. I felt that thread was not appropriate to ask the question. So I created this thread to get others opinions. I'm sorry if it offends you. You don't have to leave an opinion or a remark for that matter.:rock2

The thread about the product is a fine place to ask questions. SS will go there first I'm sure. A thread soley about complaints is a tad much.

I swear dude you always try to start a nerd battle with someone. LOL! It's not an all out drag out thread meant to take over the world. I don't mind if Sideshow reads this at all or not. I just wanted peoples opinions about the above question. Nothing more nothing less.
The Josh
01-18-2007, 01:40 PM
I'm not trying to start anything. :lol Where did you get that from? :rotfl You must take what I say way too seriously. I just was asking why start a thread soley for complaints. Nothing more nothing less.
Chill out.
Jeez :rotfl

Understood. Now which one was the biggest blunder in your opinion?
The Josh
01-18-2007, 01:46 PM
I don't like how the PF Luke (original) came out. The paint around the eyes hurts that piece.

The Endor troops, and the Grey Hulk Vs debacle.
If those are not blunders, they still have upset me.
The Josh
01-18-2007, 02:00 PM
Just curious but what about the Endor Troopers where a blunder?
BadMoon
01-18-2007, 02:00 PM
Yeah I was disapointed as well to hear about the troops at first. However, I did order them and if anything will make Endor versions of Luke and Han. They still have a chance to work on their own though. If we get some Empire troops to pose fighting.

I think he means not a main character. That was my initial response when I first seen them. However I think they will be pretty cool. I can't wait to get them.

That would probably be Custer riding to the Little Big Horn and underestimating the wrath of bajillions of united pissed off Indians.

Ha ha! You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous is never get involved in a land war in Asia, but only slightly less well-known is this: never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha...

Ok but that means both the LOTR and SW line will be short then if we only do main characters. :lol

It's one of those movies that you can watch anytime and it never gets old. Kind of like Star Wars OT.

They're working on turning it into a stage musical. God knows why.
I have higher hopes for Young Frankenstein the musical.
Oh, and I consider sculpting blunders to be FAR worse than paint blunders. Paint blunders can be fixed by most anybody, but sculpting/production blunders? You need a rare man for that kind of fix.

I don't consider Legolas a blunder, I consider the changes that were made to him a blunder, unless somehow in person saves him from looking so bad. There are pics of him from Toy Fair over at Rebelscum and it looks phenominal, so if this is as odd looking in person as the photos, then it isn't a sculpting job blunder, but a production choice blunder. Seeing that they changes Legolas, I wonder if Maul was redone and that's why his eyes look normal, I thought at first it was just the paint apps making them look better cuz I didn't think SSC would retool a head sculpt but after this, we have confirmation.

Biggest blunder? SS makin their proto pics spot on and then not livin up to it.
They don't make proto pics they make proto pieces and have the time and resources to do great work, and doing the better work helps so that the bar is high for the production facility, and while sometimes the production doesn't live up to the proto, if the proto bar were set lower, production might be lower so I'm ok with that balance because I know production has too many of the small figures to paint as nicely as the proto.

Obviously.
It's too bad that great work can't end up at the factory and in the final pieces.(sometimes to me it seems misleading to put out great proto pics with their proto pieces and then have them turn out significantly different IMO..in a negative way)but hey for 50$ i can't complain too much.

Biggest blunder...Sideshow's international shipping costs...like Canada...
EX....GREY HULK PF = 425$
SHIPPING TO CANADA = 105 $
CUSTOMS TO PAY AT DOOR = 110$
TOTAL FOR THE STATUE....640$ :google :google :google

I think the biggest blunder is having so much of one line, 12 inch, PF's, Bust and now Dioramas. Each one gets better leaving the others to fail. I don't think the future looks good for the LOTR 12 inch line. I'm sure there selling well but lower then expectations. Forget about the 12 inch line and bring on the Dioramas.
