How would you rank the films of 2014 based on your own personal preferences?

My list of the movies I've seen:

1. The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies
2. Captain America: The Winter Soldier
3. Boyhood (If I were to rank by quality alone then this would be #1. It's probably one of the most amazing films I've ever seen.)
4. Snowpiercer
5. X-Men: Days of Future Past (I'm surprised that when I think about it I actually prefer this one to GOTG)
6. Guardians of the Galaxy
7. Birdman (I didn't think I loved this one when I saw it in the theater but in thinking about it afterward and discussing it here it shot way up on my list)
8. Fury
9. Into the Woods
10. The Lego Movie
11. Big Hero 6
12. The Grand Budapest Hotel (again if I were to rank by quality alone this would be near the top)
13. The Imitation Game
14. The Railway Man
15. Godzilla
16. American Sniper
17. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1
18. Maleficent
19. Edge of Tomorrow
20. The Amazing Spider-Man 2
21. Robocop
22. Transformers: Age of Extinction

I enjoyed every one of the above films, even TF:AOE.

Then there was:

23. Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (which I was pretty "meh" about)

Junk I didn't like:

24. 300: Rise of an Empire
25. Divergent
26. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
27. The Other Woman (didn't watch the whole thing)

Fortunately I didn't have to sit through any of those last four in an actual movie theater.

Ooooo, this is a rough one for me - of the one's I've seen:

1.) Guardians
2.) Winter Solder
3.) ASM2 (and that pains me to say this low, but Winter and Guardians were darn near flawless)
4.) Lego Movie
5.) DOFP
6.) AOE
7.) Godzilla

Didn't see many 2014 movies.

1) Dawn of The Planet of The Apes
2) Guardians of the Galaxy
3) X-Men Days of Future Past
4) The Lego Movie
5) Amazing Spider-Man 2
6) Transformers: Age of Sweaty, Tanned Short Shorts Statutory Rape

2014...

1. Whiplash
2. Interstellar
3. The Grand Budapest Hotel
4. Calvary
5. Guardians of the Galaxy

Haven't seen Boyhood yet, but it's at the top of the list. I hear so many amazing things. :D

Birdman
Guardians of the Galaxy
The Grand Budapest Hotel
Foxcatcher
Inherent Vice
The Lego Movie
Captain America : The Winter Soldier
Boyhood
Edge of Tomorrow
How to Train Your Dragon 2
Gone Girl
Interstellar
Fury
Nightcrawler

1. Whiplash

2. Interstellar

3. X-Men Days of Future Past

4. Gone Girl

5. Edge of Tomorrow

6. Inherent Vice

7. Birdman

8. Guardians of the Galaxy

9. John Wick

10. Foxcatcher

11. Nightcrawler

12. Fury

13. Chef

14. Captain America: The Winter Soldier

15. A Most Violent Year

2. Guardians of the Galaxy
3. CA:Winter Soldier
4. X-Men: DoFP
5. Transformers: AoE
6. Night at the Museum: SotT

These are all the movies I saw in the theaters although there were many more that I wanted to see but didn't make it. I enjoyed each of these. I've bought other movies from 2014, but haven't had the chance to watch them yet to judge them.

Edge of Tomorrow

5. Edge of Tomorrow

Ooh, I forgot about that one. Time to update my list.

Shouldn't this be titled "Your Favorite Movies of 2014?" There were a ton more movies out in 2014 than the ones listed.

Why on earth would you rank a hundred films that you haven't seen? Of course I'm only talking about the films people actually went and saw. Yes I could have said "Rank the movies of 2014...THAT YOU HAVE SEEN," but duh, should I really need to? And no this thread should not be "Your Favorite Movies of 2014" because that would eliminate all the movies that people don't like. I want to see rankings from best to last, favorite to LEAST favorite. I'm honestly not sure why that required any additional explanation.

2. Nightcrawler

3. Fury

4. Edge of Tomorrow

5. Guardians of the Galaxy

6. Hercules

7. Days of Future Past

8. RoboCop

9. Seventh Son

:lol at adding the "6" to "996" for Godzilla. Tell us how you really feel Riddick. ;)

I know this is a cbm/sci-fi crowd but it looks like a lot of you guys (and gals) really need to get out and see Boyhood, Birdman, and Grand Budapest. I know a number of theaters are scheduling "Oscar marathons" so you can even still catch them on the big screen.

Looks like I need to see Whiplash and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
