Re: Star Wars McQuarrie Collectibles by Sideshow.

Why is vaders head look so weird? Is it vader? Or another evil guy?

Re: Star Wars McQuarrie Collectibles by Sideshow.

Is his original design by the conceptual artist Ralph McQuarrie. Ralph made all the main design for the original movies. Is a lot of products based in this concept of Vader.

Hasbro Figure:

Gentle Giant Mini-Bust:

Gentle Giant Bust:

Kotobukiya Statue:

Cool! Thanks bro.. But did this vader ever exist in the star wars universe or all just concepts and nothing more?

Re: Star Wars McQuarrie Collectibles by Sideshow.

They are concepts. They were created before the movies were made to convey the ideas and thought behind Star Wars, before the making of the films.

Yeah kinda weird. Im curious what scale this line would be.. I hope it will be as good as the mythos line.

Re: Star Wars McQuarrie Collectibles by Sideshow.

McQuarrie designed more versions of Vader and in the pics above we can see 2 of them. My favorite is the one in the SS pic and in the Kotobukiya Vader vs Luke duel statue (which is one of the best SW statues out there). I don't really like the one made by eFX.

I'm curious what SS will do here: figures, 1:2 busts, statues, dioramas?

Re: Star Wars McQuarrie Collectibles by Sideshow.

I am thinking 1/5. Similar to the Mythos line. I don't think that they will be bigger.

Mere specualations, I know. :)

Re: Star Wars McQuarrie Collectibles by Sideshow.

I love McQuarries work. I even have his book and some of the Hasbro figures. Buying expensive statues or sixth scale figures based on his designs though? I don't think so. I would prefer it went on stuff based on the movies or even EU :(

This book might be interesting for those of you who are interested.

Holy ****! I've always hoped Sideshow would do some McQuarrie pieces. I'm interested in whatever they come up with. :panic:
