I've never tried dyeing anything before and I'm looking to dye a pair of the HT Snake Eyes pants. I used the Rit color remover and have them ready to dye. I was reading on the bottle that for certain types of fabric you could add salt or vinegar to the bath to aid in the color absorption. Is it worth adding this to the mix or does it work just as well with the dye alone?

On the cotton fabrics, I've found that you don't need to add salt or vinegar. Remember, the longer you leave the item in the dye bath, the darker the item will be. I've had good luck with Rit dyes. Hot toys has used polyester threads in the past, and they don't take to dyes.

Salt is for opening up the threads of cotton or similar, to better accept the dye. Vinegar is used to fix the dye when using synthetics. I don't recall any instance of those being used on the same materials.
