Hey guys...was'nt sure which section to post this in but as I am primarily a statue collector I thought it may be of interest to those of you who own the GG Dewback and Sandtrooper statue. I bought a Hasbro Black Series Sandtrooper figure recently and to my delight it is exactly the same scale as the aforementioned statue :) I then decided to have a go at weathering the toy figure (including the guns which was tricky!!) to try replicate the Sandtroopers seen on screen as the original paint application was not that good and very light. I also drilled a hole in the end of the T21 blaster as the barrel end was just flat. I'm pretty happy with the results and now intend to buy another and make a black pauldron trooper to go with my statue. You could go a step further (if you don't mind the figure being static) and fill in the holes where the joints are, sand and paint. Now debating whether to weather my actual GG dewback rider as he looks kinda plain no compared to the figure!! Not sure if it will lessen the value of the statue as a whole though...what do you guys think?
Anyhow...pics below...any feedback appreciated :)

I think the figured you have weathered looks great. The gun turned out nice, that drilled hole makes such a difference.

As for the Dewback rider; personally, I wouldn't worry about the value too much. It seems like you know what you're doing when it comes to this and as long as you don't get too crazy, I can't imagine it would drastically drop the price. Remember, it's all about how bad somebody wants something that sets the value. Some collectors might want a mint, untouched Dewback and someone might think your wheathered rider looks great. Good luck. If you go through with it, be sure to throw up some pics.
