Best way to make a 1/6 Scale Throne - sculpt or 3D model?

Hi, im looking to make a large Throne in 1/6 scale as a project over the next year or two. I'm currently drawing up the blueprints but thinking ahead about how i'll eventually produce it, 3D print in pieces and then assemble and cast or sculpt from scratch. I have little exp with sculpting and some moderate cad work exp.

Anyone with experience in this kind of field have any recommendations on which way to go? I'm thinking 3D model atm with Rhino5 but printing such as large object may be hard, will be nearly 20 inches tall when done.

Your throne and alien queen are sick bud! This is what i want to make, not sure if i could sculpt it with clay completely.
