NO thanks!! it's a great looking bust, but I doubt I'll get any of them. They don't look right to me, Give us the Darth Maul statue.:rock

Great looking bust!! I love it but I won't be able to afford these.

Looks good, but I'm not interested. I knew they would do Maul or Yoda.:lol

Now where is the 1/4 Maul?!!!!!

I have no desire to have a big head in my house. I could see owning the Predator, but not this.

Now the Alien Queen on the other hand. :drool

Maul may be one of the few 1/4th scale figures I buy.

I said I was only going to collect statues but this bust is awesome IMO. I will be getting it for sure.

OK does this mean that they will no longer be in a hurry to produce a 1/4 scale Maul? I hope not, but wouldn't a 1/4 scale look bland compared to this?

screamingmetal
07-13-2005, 04:04 PM
Awesome! I like how they are incorporating cloth into the full scale busts! Unfortunately, I'll never afford one.
And why the hell are all these photos of new products showing up on that *****y site and not here!?!

I think it would be cool to display both the bust and the 1/4 figure.

I sure hope they still release a 1/4 figure but I LOVE this piece and the fact it has the hood too. Very nice touch.

I really enjoy the mixed media, but I am not sure if I will get this - a lot depends on price. :dunno

OK DarthMaul, say cheese!

Just kidding, looks like they got a hold of an actual head cast or they scanned Ray Park because this one is spot on. In the oblique pic he looks really menacing, but somehow in the straight on front view he kind of looks like he's trying not to ***** himself.

I think I would feel like jeffrey dahmer if I started collecting these.

They have to be careful! If these are $800 then the line is dead before it's really able to even get off the ground!

$500 for Hellboy is somewhat risky then too I would assume, it has a much smaller following, and that bust isn't mixed media.

the predator bust is $1000 and i cant see how they would kill maul by jacking up the price that much.

WOW! That is simply AMAZING! I mean, it looks like a real head. The detail, the likeness .. just WOW!

I only collect LOTR and only statues and environments at that.. but jesus that thing is amazing! SW is really tempting me. Everything they have done is just amazing... and if they keep comming like this.. i don't know if i could hold out...

Well Chris was having to wait to put the preorder up until today so he would have time to include the Flexpay option. Apparently this option is only used for high ticket items of $500 and up. So $800 isn't a bad quess. It's apparently mixed media as well using a cloth robe and hood. I would expect a very low ES though probably no bigger than 300 - 500.

$600 is a VERY good price on this. I might have to think about this one now. I actually wouldn't need the Flex Pay for once.:lol

Oh, and it's not a Sideshow Exclusive, so Bob, Adam, etc. will have it for cheaper. I said before that Maul and Yoda are the only ones I would get, so I'll have to wait and see.

Here's a question for you guys: would you buy a clone trooper shock trooper's helmet or a shock trooper bust at double the price? :p

El, I would buy the Vader bust for sure.

Good question Gazmog. Personally, I'd prefer SS busts, but considering the short license to make these, I doubt I would see all I wanted from the bust line; so, I will be collecting both.

Got my order in for Maul too. Good thing I have 8+ months to figure out where I'm going to put this. :google

How's this for resurrecting an oldie ...

This is now my wife's least favorite piece ... ever. My kids are split, but my choice is fairly certain - HE ROCKS! At 1:1 scale, the details are remarkable, pores folks, he has pores. I was curious how the eyes would look, they are nice and glossy; just as they should be. The paint work is top-notch, no bleeding lines, crisp and evil -- just the way I like my Sith lords. Now bring on Yoda.

I love mine just as much. The detail is just amazing and everything is dead on.

Do you pose with or without the hood? The hood makes him a little more evil looking but I just hate to hide those gorgous horns.

Hood off for now, I am waiting on a case for him and then I will probably use the hood. I am worried about the dust on the fabric.

Believe it or not this is my wife's favorite part of my collection. She has always been tolerable and supportive of it, but since I pick up the Maul 1:1 she has actually gotten even more interested and been looking at upcoming stuff.

Mine's displayed with the hood. Tried both ways and just didn't like him without the hood.

THis is nearly a perfect piece. Saw one on display at Forbidden Planet on Union Square here in NYC. I just wish they'd used glass eyes instead of just painting them. Imagine the realism!!!

I love the 1:1 busts that I saw at SDCC. The Maul was so awesome but I think I will try for the Yoda since space is so limited and he is my favorite. He looked so realistic it was unbelievable.

Congrats Matt! The Maul 1:1 bust is a perfect example of why SS is the best at what they do. If you have the chance, get the Greedo bust too. As perfect as the Maul bust is, the Greedo is even better!

Yes, that seems like a great suggestion. I wonder what kind of logistical problems it would have created getting the little eyeballs in? Presumably they would be installed via a hollow interior with an opening at the neck base, or perhaps with a split-casting for the head?

I'm looking forward to my Yoda a lot. I don't doubt the quality of the other two pieces for a moment, but not sure they're my thing. I will say I think they're on safer ground doing creatures and non humans as they have up to this point. I would include Maul in that category in a sense, because it is the horns/tattooing that are initially distinctive about this character, moreso than Ray Park's face. As a matter of curiosity though at least, it would be interesting to see how they would fare with a Luke or Han.

Both are perfect renditions of their on screen counterparts; but, l lean more towards Greedo due to the greater detail. Either way, one, or both, are an absolute must for any high-end SW collection. Bring on Yoda!! :)

If they decided to go with Han, they would fair much better going with Howard S again. He seems to have the 1:1 Ford sculpt down.

I would LOVE to get the Yoda bust. I had been toying with getting a 1:1 Yoda for a while, and this'd be the one I'd get, even though he has no feet. But i just don't have the room, as my wife keeps pointing out to me.
