..RENT!
Yes, yes I know this may seem like a total shot in the dark, but I would love to see SS take on the characters from RENT, either in 1:6 or PF. I mean, hey, they are doing muscians, why not musicals? :lol Really though, I would love to see this. If SSC actually let the RENThead fan base in on the idea and did small runs, I can see them totally selling out. Sooo am I the only one?

Unlikely, but I would get behind these musical characters: Phantom and Christine, from Phantom of the Opera, and an Elphaba and Glinda from Wicked.

and of course, High School Musical...and maybe John Travolta? (grease)

John Tavolta.....ugh....
(Not a Travolta fan, here).

I really think that if they did the figures with edition sizes of around 2000 per figure, they could easily make these figures happen. While I wouldn't exactly be in for the Wicked figures I would definatly like Phantom figures. The only thing I would say though is that they would have an easier time with movie versions rather than Broadway versions of the characters.

I'm probably the minority on this one, but I would totally go for a Phantom of the Opera set of the Phantom & Christine from the 2004 movie. Definitely.

No, I would definatly bite on that too. Imagine the detail the outfits alone would have. Add that to the nice portraits SS does. Ahhh I think I am going to have to talk off a few ears at Comic Con this year.

I don't know if there is a lot of meeting of the minds between action figure collectors and Musical fans? I could be wrong... If Highlander and POTA figures sell slowly or not at all I imagine 2000 Rent figures would struggle.

If you made the musical community aware of it, perhaps not....who knows. I do know people who collect Phantom of the Opera, though.

I think they best way they would sell is a small edition size, awareness from the respective fan base and, in the case of RENT, say so much from each figure would be given to a charity such as Friends in Need or other Larson associated organization.

Well, they've sort of done figures from SPAMALOT...
One of the doll companies have been successful with Wizard of Oz figures- not exactly a musical, but could be the same audience. However I feel the same way about RENT figures as I do about LOST figures- the costumes aren't really distinctive enough to make it worthwhile.
WICKED might be cool though - or THE PRODUCERS...
Now Travolta from Grease or Saturday Night Fever - that's another thing...
Or maybe CATS?
EVITA?
