I got to see him do this live a couple of weeks back. After the final note he went straight into "Sweet Child 'O Mine" and the place went INSANE!

Hard to decide on a true number one favorite, but I will go with the solo for Pink Floyd's Hey You.

David Gilmour isn't a fast or flashy player like Rhoads or Vai, but he has awesome tone and a unmatched note selection.

Nice thread. I have some obscure ones. I'll post the whole video for those adventurous enough to listen to the whole thing, but will point out the timing on the solo. First 2 are very much like something from Floyd.

Love that one! The guitar practically sings. :drool

I'm quite fond of "Eruption", the prelude to Van Halen's cover of You Really Got Me. I wouldn't say its my favorite by any stretch, but I feel robbed when its not played with along with it.

Definitely a lot to choose from, but being a huge Zeppelin fan, I'm going to start out with these two:

In My time of Dying is such a slow burner. Right around that 5 minute mark is amazing. And it's not just Page, buy Bonham's drumming is also incredible. Cough.

Another two by David Gilmour[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZY2O906bDo"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZY2O906bDo[/ame][ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bpzxf_flm8M"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bpzxf_flm8M[/ame]

Randy Rhoads. Children of the Grave. 3:13

For Gilmore, my first instinct goes to Dogs (around 5:30), but I know I'm just scratching the surface of that one. Ummagumma (for starters) is a goldmine.

Led Zep's "Since I've Been Loving You" BBC Sessions.

Wow, this thread has turned out to be all sorts of awesome. Nice to see a lot of love for Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin, especially :rock. Will have to listen to everything tonight :clap.
