Just thought I would share this with you guys in case someone else is looking for ideas to display the beast that is The Tumbler. I bought a LIATORP coffee table from IKEA as a base to start with and found a couple of glass doors in the ex-display section to use around the sides to essentially make it into a display case.

I have only built the table and installed the lights so far, the hardest part will be getting the glass into the sides as I have to make a frame to hold the glass in and the legs are tapered so it is more work. Here are some pics of progress so far.

Looks great! Looking forward to seeing it finished.

Re: Tumbler Table WIP

nice new option! But holly shiet that Ikea table is $300 MSRP :p
Sorry just it's Ikea I did not expect a $300 coffee table :p
Hey btw in case you really did not see it, check out the Granas coffee table thread to explore options for the sides. If you can still return those glass doors that might need a lot more work it be a lot easier to work with acrylic for sides and use trims

I know what you mean about the price but this table is worth the extra as it is made from better materials and not the normal chipboard that they use. Thanks for the info, I saw the thread on the Granas table that's where I got the idea from but the problem is the legs on mine are tapered so trim like that wouldn't work unless I made the legs straight with bits of wood but I don't think it would look nice.

Re: Tumbler Table WIP

Some more progress pics. I still have a bit of finishing to do like tidying up wires and putting on some trim. I have left a space for the Bat Pod which should be here next week and when my LCS gets the DX12 in I can put him in there also.

What a pain in the butt it was to cut all these trim pieces for the glass, the hardest part was getting the angle right so there were no gaps.

Re: Tumbler Table WIP

Looks really awesome bud. Great job :clap

Cheers jay, it was a lot more work than I thought. The idea was simple in my head but making it a reality was a bit more difficult :rotfl Turned out not too bad for my first time, as my report card from school always used to say "could do better" :)

I just went on the Ikea website and searched for the table but looks like the Liatorp table has a drawer, did your come with a drawer? If so, did you just took out the drawer?

Mine doesn't have a drawer. There are 2 types with the same name, a square one with a drawer and this one which is rectangular without the drawer.
