Signature problem Hot Toys Iron Man pink panties has extended its warm hands to the tummy of the Iron Man Mark III Battle Damaged. Below you can see how pink the tummmy and panties are on my MKIII BD.

Best option if to strip of existing paint, don't even think about painting it with any form of red. Just clear gloss work wonders.

It looks better than it did, and it's a great idea for the pink panty syndrome too, but I agree with LipSmack. Hopefully Mark III 2.0 is right around the corner.

With all the possible armors to produce from IM3 & Avengers II, I can't see HTs revisiting this old armor unless for some reason it's reused in the movie.

I think the last post about this issue the paint used was the Tamiya clear gloss metallic red. In pics, it looked perfect.

Never know with Hot Toys. Iron Man Suits seems to sell well regardless what they put out. Mark 3 will be seen in IM3 in his Hall Of Armor, but not yet known if it will be back in action.

As for going back, one of the latest stills from IM3 shows the Mark VI being used again.http://i731.photobucket.com/albums/ww313/calvarenga09/iron_man_wang_xueqi.jpg

They did a v.2 of the Mark I, and the original stands up WAY better than these Mark III's.

Hi innseng, I would suggest you use clear gross red spray paint.

I guess Hot Toys might have used the ver1 mold onto the BD ver. The battle damaged ironman's colour is much reddish than the Mark3 ver1. Here's mine which shown not red, compared to your BD.

And do note to spray only a thin layer, not too thick. Or else you may find crack during the handling when you put it back. Hope this help.

I have to agree with Lee as the likelihood of a revisit seems far fetched, but stranger things have happened.
I would not suggest throwing it out either, however.
The red that HT used sure looks more like a burgundy with metal flake to me, so I'm not certain if start with red. I have the same task ahead of me when I return home to Michigan according to Lee, but I've contemplated starting with Tamiya's clear red over the existing. Might not be fruitful, but that's where I am with it. A few shots with the airbrush will give me bettter direction, but I will also see if I can find or mix a flaked wine or burgundy to be safe. The other alternative is just to say **** it and leave it as is. Idk...

Should I go for spray can or hand paint? Any code number to reference the mention Tamiya acrylic color%

Hi Iceberg66, thank you for the advice. I'll get clear gloss red and as adviced, spray thin coat.
Your MKiii looks great, no sign of fading. Did you do special precautions while displaying or keeping it?

Can't believe how ridiculous the proportions were on this... only looks good when not head-on.

Agreed, and I will put in a pre-order for version 2.0 if(/when) it happens, but some people sure can bring out the maximum this figure has to offer.

No no, innseng. The pictures I shown was after repaint. Mine suffered the fading also. :gah:

:lecture I was told that most of the HT iron man will have fading problem. That's why right after the mark 3, they changed the adonminal portion to hard plastic. :lecture

Hey Iceberg66, I would say great job you done there. If you didn't mentioned, I thought it didn't had the fade.

Perhaps MKIII 2.0 will have the hard plastic body, but anyway, the undies are gona become pinkish too lol :slap

Hey guys,

I've repainted the pink tummy and panties for the Mark III Battle Damaged, for the last time.

The color actually look quite close to original when view with naked eye.

Under normal lighting, low ISO shooting. Real life hue and saturation.
