Lol I'm just busting ya ballz brother. I know how you feel I'm very tempted to sell some of my Nolan Batman stuff so I can get the enterbay BD terminator

Well I know I've mentioned it a few times but still haven't commissioned you on that one. I do want that diorama for my AK-wielding Sarah. I'm gonna try to move that up amongst my toy-related priorities but that will entail successfully resisting things and paying down the existing CC bill.

Well think it over. Its actually this one you're doing right now that I'd be most interested in personally (though anything Terminator interests me). Its a scene I've always wanted to do. Your work on it certainly seems pretty damn good so far.

I definitely will! Out of curiosity were you wanting the whole scene or just the gear and chain and the wall? I'm doing the whole steps and railing behind him as well.

Now that's sick! Makes me want to get a Sarah Conner figure to get the dio! Hopefully after a few more dios under my belt I'll have the skill and patience (a virtue I don't have, pacing right now waiting for glue to dry!) to get on that level. Attention to detail is fantastic. Even the tiny little writing looks just like the movie.

Still in awe with all these pics showing up.

Hoping to get myself one of these sometime this year before they go up in price etc but I still feel the enterbay t-800 would be the better choice because I have a 1/4 endoskeleton to display beside it, just the lack of accessories and the some what bad QC throws me of purchasing it

Also, with those that have taken the blood off of the sculpt, you obviously don't want to press too hard right? Or does it become obvious of when to stop rubbing when you have the orange off and the chrome shining through?right.
first goes the orange goo, THEN the chrome and then the red blood.
p.s. just found a DX13 for $319.50 only O_O

right.

So does that mean the chrome will have to be repainted? I was thinking about taking the blood off some of the gloved hands!

Did some come with more blood on the chrome then others? I didn't find mine to be a problem like some here complain. I see the chrome parts just fine but I'm wondering is the complaint more on the semi damaged head, the complete battle damaged head or both?

So does that mean the chrome will have to be repainted? I was thinking about taking the blood off some of the gloved hands!no, it means only that you must watch when to stop.
as for hands, all orange stuff goes off perfectly. trigger fingers were golden on my figures, they are chrome now. all that is only about orange color, not red blood itself. to achieve an "endo left fingers in holes" effect you must paint the "flesh" into black to mix it with the glove. i still didn't do it as my black paint is totally dry, and it's not easy for me to by one, i have to purchase it from civilized areas of this planet.

Did some come with more blood on the chrome then others? I didn't find mine to be a problem like some here complain. I see the chrome parts just fine but I'm wondering is the complaint more on the semi damaged head, the complete battle damaged head or both?1) i got a separate body and two complete figures as my first purchases.
a body had least amount of blood - i mean red paint, not orange. two complete figures from one seller, from one stock were a) a little more bloody than a nude body and b) a little more bloody than previous figure.
2) all in all there is a lot more chrome on this figure than on MMS117 endoarm. everything will be fine with rubbing the orange stuff off, just don't be too persistent or you could damage the chrome. one of my full BD heads now has a little too much rubber upper part, i'd like it to be a little shinier. i'll achieve it on other full BD heads.
nice thing is you can safely remove that orange gel from skin, turning it into pale pink damage.
3) you don't see the chrome "just fine" on a figure out of the box. you see bronze/gold. that is due to transparent orange layer some dumb HT daltonian used to spoil all DX13 figures.

Sounds good buddy. That's actually my next project. I used all wood and instamorph. It's a moldable plastic and I painted the under side orange. But I will probably dye it next time for a better effect. It's great stuff but you will likely burn your hand a bit, I did! Haha. Good luck can't wait to see it when you get around to it.

Hey P., I still do not notice an excessive amount of orange or bronze colored chrome on my head sculpts. I see a couple of spots but not a lot. So yes I see chrome color "just fine" on mine. :) However I don't know which camp mine falls in? Can you do me a favor and watch my review vid if you haven't already and tell me what you think? Is mine considered a lot or a little? What I see doesn't bother me.

cannot do it now, youtube is forbidden/blocked on my work place. plus i don't believe videos, they seem to never show actual colors.
what you need is a side by side comparison, but to have it you must delete the orange goo from one part of BD head and compare it to another part, which you don't need to do as you don't see it. so you're stuck in a paradox :D

:lol Ok thanks. Let me clarify. I do see some spots but not a large amount that it takes over all the silver colored chrome is what I guess I am trying to say. So I don't know if what I have is the same as others that are complaining and removing them or if I lucked out and received ones that have less. So I was curious where mine stands. If anyone else can watch my vid again and tell me what they think, let me know. Yes what I have doesn't bother me enough to remove them which is why I suspected that mine came with less.

Ok new question. Where on the DX10 is there exposed chrome parts? Are you talking about the little piece where you can insert the chip in his head?

metal doesn't stand out, so it looks like common out-of-the-box effect. it would be unexplained if it was the other way cause it would be a first figure without that transparent orange layer.
orange stuff is not placed in spots, it covers metal & part of flesh with one unbroken layer.
check mine, i touched everything including chest & leg:

it's far less on a fresh figure. the occupit wound was totally orange and red on mine.
that's what you can achieve with a way one of board members discovered. to my shame i forgot who it was. but he really saved the figure.

check the trigger finger on palms. the one that has no flesh & glove on it. mine had greatest amount of bronze there.

On the rubbing alcohol front, I got some today. I tried it on an MMS117 endo-arm first with zero apparent effect but I thought I'd give it a go on DX13 aswell, thinking though that it wasn't gonna work, I had perhaps bought the wrong stuff.

However, it certainly is removing paint as the Q-tips are red. I went too hard on the chest though and exposed a black layer, creating a more matte appearance. Not too noticeable but just a warning if anyone is also thinking of doing this to remove excess blood and the bronze-look to the endo parts. Don't rub hard. Better to take off too little than too much.

So they stand in the molten steel. I like their idea of a steel mill dio, but they need to add some metal flooring, or hanging chains on that one. Unless you chop an arm off for this pose.

See this is why the lowering into molten steel dio, although being something I do want to have, would not be my favorite. Unless you build the entire environment its gonna look kinda gimmicky, it wouldn't be great for scene recreation photos because there'd be no way to photograph it without the real world intruding on it because of all that mid-air space which can at best be filled by a printed-off backdrop. Unless, as I said, you actually build the whole damn visible portion of the steel mill in accurate horizontal and vertical dimensions.

On the other hand look at what DarkSpartan has been doing with his Hasta-la-vista scene and the upcoming ''T-800 stuck'' dioramas - very compact scenes that he can fill with detail, he included a backdrop in the former scene but it didn't have to awkwardly imply this huge vertical space for the scene to accurately be pulled off, not like you would the 'lowering into the steel'.

Everyone brings it up because its an important scene in the film but as a diorama, visually, its gonna be awkward.

highlander1
02-12-2014, 05:27 PM
I'll just do a movie screengrab backdrop and lava floor with pulley n chains hanging in the detolf. I 'll just be keeping it simple and will only be like my 2nd or 3rd dio i'v ever done. So realy a experiment to see if can make it at all. Like said just seems like a pretty easy dio so will give it a go!

Amazing work ecko! Looks seemless.

I also agree with most about the dio. When I make one it'll have actual railing on one side to give perspective. The lava and chains alone would be great but structures add so much more. Almost done with this one. Definitely room for improvment but I have to say I am in love with this pic I got. Added some color changing leds.

^^ Yep, very true. From an original plan to have just 2 Terminators on display (1 each of DX10/13), I now have 3, and hopes for a T1 PS T-800 and a couple endos. Also, it would be difficult to not add Reese. *hangs head*

@ DarkSpartan062: Amazing work on that dio! Really loving the effect of the blue LED.

P. adds an extra bit of accuracy to some of his displays and an extra bit of imagination to some other of his displays, I love seeing it.

Thinking of posting some group shots of my Arnies tomorrow, since other people have done so. It'll just be a shot of them laid out on the floor though, I still am without a means to display them correctly in a proper environment.

Very nice P.. Bit of a 'what if' scenario if he did actually manage to free the rest of his arm?

thank you!
and actually it's not a mod for this figure, not "what if".
i put terminator figures in a raw according to stages of their look or damage changes, and i saw that sudden disappear of the arm looked silly. so i made that missing arm. it will be used by another figure, i don't have it yet.

but i had to check that two break sides match each other, so i did what i did, and that looked so cool that i wanted to share photos )

No , it's a HT endo that he broke apart . He has the leg lying around too . P is a fanatic .

well...
T1:
1) clothes retrieval
2) technoir punk
3) burned punk
4) arm surgery
5) eye surgery
6) police station attack
7) truck damage
8) full endoskeleton with damaged leg
9) crawling endoskeleton torso

T2:
10) future endoskeleton
11) "get down"
12) harley figure
13) chip extraction
14) metal arm revelation
15) weapon/ammo bags / gasoline canister delivery
16) cyberdyne minigun figure
17) cyberdyne SWAT attack
18) steel mill "searching" figure
19) steel mill "full BD" figure

Predator:
20) Dutch

random:
21) alien USCM marine Schwarzenegger (playing a role of DOOM III marine periodically)
22) samurai swordsman terminator (as opposing to samurai predator)

there will also definitely be 3 more T2 steel mill figures, 2 T2 bodies playing a terminator and a biker, and PROBABLY a T1 "WRONG" scene figure.

i think a-dev already has or at least plans same amount for T2 only :D

DarkSpartan062
02-16-2014, 10:55 PM
Thanks buddy! Repeatable? This is the one and only haha Jk. It's pretty repeatable and I'd definitely be able to do it better now that I've done it once. Seen the mistakes and already done the trial and error. Only thing is time really. This thing took me a solid few weeks, and that's with hours everyday not just some weekend project. So given enough tome id say I could repeat it. But I've never done commission stuff so I'm not sure what someone would pay would be worth the time it would take to make it. Guess id have to do some research or something. Don't wanna go trying to rip people off either.

Here's a couple more shots. Wanted to wait for the background to show more but what the Hell. I'll take more pics with the background after too. I doubt anyone here will be sick of seeing arnie anyway!

Well sir, the gears scene is something of a long-held ambition of mine to recreate with figures. So a very interested party here if you ever work out the economy of making one as a commission. Maxx replicas might be able to offer advice on it since he is a diorama builder - http://www.sideshowcollectors.com/forums/member.php?17721-maxx-replicas

Not sure that he's here very often, he might be more contactable via his website. http://maxx-replicas.jimdo.com/

He made the Pescadero* diorama that I own (I didn't buy it directly off him so I'm not sure what he charged his original customer)

So yeah, you have a lot of work to still do (atleast 12, plus upgrades for new 238 T1), ya failure. That's the best you can do? Rougly $4,500+? Pfft, KEEP AT IT.

25 T-800s there if you're having trouble counting that mess. Can't wait to replace my T1 kitbashes with official figures.

Jesus H Christ! That's what I call a collection. The new T1 PS version must be a blessing and a curse. So much new work, so much new money.

Arnie fest! Love it! Where'd you get the grid platform under where t1000 penetrates the t800 if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks. Those are just trays for cigarette lighters all glued together.

jeezus a-dev. :lol

That's awesome, but kind of insane. ;)

I don't disagree about that latter part.

+rep adev. Thats an insane looking collection.

I hope to build similar collection, only its Bale Batman. But its kinda hard to stay focus like you, with so many good stuffs each company like HT, SS, EB, etc releases each year.

I find it pretty tough to be focussed. I'm just thankful I'm not a big Iron Man fan. God help those guys.

Damn A-Dev. Damn. :clap

Holy hell a-dev!!! That's incredible!!!

:clap :clap

Fantastic collection a-dev. :lecture

a-dev great pics of your HUGE Arnold/Terminator Collection. Amazing!:clap:thud:

Thank you sirs!

Damn adev that's a lot of terminator I'm impressed

How many more (minus the new T1 BD) do you think you'll get?

Well little to nothing actually. I want to have a DX13 in a permanent display with his arm stuck in the gears at the steel mill ala DarkSpartan's diorama so that's one more. I might do a 'Hasta La Vista' one and at one point I wanted another DX10 to display locked in hand-to-hand battle with the T-1000 at the galleria, not sure I'll bother with that one now though as it would also entail buying yet another T-1000 and I'm getting sick of the expense.

Goddamn!!!!
I always thought you had many, but underestimated you BIG time!
You really need a shelf, such as mine.
It would excellent in it and it isnīt costly, buddy.
Really amazing what effort you put in this.
:rock

Geeeeezas crickey!!!!!!!
That makes my collection look pathetic. Wow brother, where do you keep all them please? tell me that you have a behind the glass

Errr, no. I don't have them behind glass much to my regret. This means I have to take a dust-cloth and lint roller to them every now and again. Problem with lint rollers is they make the T-shirts 'fluffy' by pulling on the little fibres etc. If I ever do get them on proper shelves with glass fronts I might set about trying to replace T-800 T-shirts and T-1000 outfits (which got discoloured by, I'm guessing the damn incandescent room light bulb over the years. I since replaced it with an LED)

I see some extremely lovely futzing on one of them. Holding a box.

Hopefully not just on that one but yeah I got the jacket collar particularly nice on the rosebox T-800, moreso than the others.

About time a-dev about time.

You are both insane and a inspiration at the same time buddy :D

Where are your Sarah's and Reese's though?

:lol Thanks. I didn't want to put the entire lot on the floor, I wouldn't have been able to move around the room. I've got 7 Sarahs, just that one Tech com Reese whose kinda hidden away to be honest. 9 T-1000s and a T2 John.

Good god a-dev, I knew you had a ton of em but I didn't know you had that many!

Unfortunately, you're missing quite a bit though.

- T1 T-800 ("**** you *** hole", no glasses)
- T1 T-800 (Mother's cabin in Big Bear)
- T1 T-800 (post Police Shootout damage aka, walking out of the police station)
- T1 T-800 (bike with pistol)
- T1 T-800 (promotional photoshoot with no jacket, punk shirt, spiked hair and gargoyles)

- T2 T-800 (Nekkid)
- T2 T-800 (bad to the bone, no weapons)
- T2 T-800 (galleria, shot gun in hand walking on roses)
- T2 T-800 (vigilant watch at garage stop, grey shirt with shot gun over shoulder)
- T2 T-800 (weapon cache/finding the minigun for the first time)
- T2 T-800 (just about to remove his leather jacket before he cuts his hand)
- T2 T-800 (Hasta La vista Baby)

So yeah, you have a lot of work to still do (atleast 12, plus upgrades for new 238 T1), ya failure. That's the best you can do? Rougly $4,500+? Pfft, KEEP AT IT.

Some of those I actually have considered - like the 'Vigilant watch at the garage, shotgun on shoulder', for some reason I always liked that image.

Some of those T1's I will do probably. :D

The only place big enough to house all my T-800s in one large group was the floor, and this looks awful frankly but people wanted to see what I have. My room is also too small for my to physically get in position to capture decent angles, hence the top-down crappy views of the DX afros.

Does you steel mill Sarah have her leg wound with improvised bandaged though? I remember us talking about that at one point.

Also if you are looking for nice sweat pants you can use the sweat pants off this set: http://asmustoys.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=82

I upgraded my mental hospital Sarah to them and they are really nice.

No I still haven't done the makeshift bandage for the Steel Mill Sarah. One day I will, though I know I've been saying that for years.

You sure those sweatpants work? I mean not only are they on a male figure but they seem to be on a huge muscle-bodied male figure....

I'd have made more of an effort with the pics if I'd known someone was gonna do that! But thanks. :D

Wow a-dev, no pt. 1 Sarah?

Nope, I await either HT or a customiser like Dchung to make one that I can buy. The stuff you need isn't exactly commonplace.
