Really better then the dx09 ?

Yeah I was going to mention that. I'd say this is definitely equal, or might be a little over DX09. I haven't seen PERS work this well since DX09. Both are the exact reason it's a feature that should be retained, as long as it's done well.

I actually see all the usual PERS problems on DX09. Its just more excusable because of the raccoon make-up and the cowl. But if you study it up close the PERS on that is no better than DX10.

It's still by far the best of the Batmen PERS though? Not near as good as these eyes.

Yeah but that's because HT continually failed to see that Bale's squinty eyes were a distinctive trait to his Batman that they should have tried to copy onto the figures whereas with Keaton's Batman it didn't matter so much. It was OK that his eyes were bigger. But y'know, cartoony irises, a visible gap between the eyes and the eyelids, those are two issues we usually complain about with PERS and they're right there on DX09. If he were a normal human sculpt it'd be as lowly rated in the PERS department as DX10 and Indiana Jones probably.

DX13 here is definitely the best PERS for a non-make-upped character we've ever seen from HT. I'm glad to be able to say.

I agree completely, I've sculpted enough PERS eyelids now that I see them in my sleep. No question the DX13 has the best PERS to date, Sparrow comes second IMO.

Agreed on the eyelids, can't wait to see it in hand. But, and I mentioned this earlier, not only are the eyelids better but the eyeballs themselves. No one has mentioned it. These don't have that starburst pattern like the old ones, like Luke etc. These have a more natural color pattern like a real eye. Which is awesome.

Better PERS, better scaled heads, a new dawn for HT?

I like how the metal bar (plastic) can go into the little grooves in the base, kind of can rest a leaning fig on it.

One criticism of the figure is, It just shows how crud the DX10 sculpt is. :exactly:

Here is my old CREG Customs (custom) figure with the new BD head on it. I also switched out the arms to the new doublejointed elbows and the new BD arm:

The blood on the new endo-parts doesn't jibe with what CREG did but this is planned to be my 'crawling' T-800 so it won't be all that noticeable. Also you can see I've got him impaled with the steel rod. He probably should be impaled higher up his body for accuracy sake but I didn't want to risk it so instead drilled through the lower body which CREG had already hollowed out for a battery compartment (when this used to have an LED for its former NECA headsculpt). Other details about that figure - other than the jacket which is from DX13 he's wearing custom weathered MMS clothes, the bandolier is from NECA (I may replace it with the new HT one)

And here's a comparison of the MMS jacket on the new figure:

Thanks. Mainly I looked at the old McFarlane figure as a guide. Afterall In the film all you see is from about the shoulders up! Nothing is finessed or final at this stage though. I want to get an MMS jacket on him for one thing. Eventually I'll really get into the poses.

The third one will either be full BD aswell (as my custom) or it'll be the inbetween phase where he has lost his hand but still has only the semi-BD face.

Also planning a SWAT attack version but I think I'll buy just a few parts for that - body, T-shirt, bandolier and boots - because I'll already have the rest.

Hardest part for me was just getting the damaged coat on. You need to take that forearm off, put the coat on and then put the damaged arm through the torn sleeve. You need to plug your finger in the damaged sleeve to work the elbow peg section down as far as it can go to be able to access it with the damaged arm.

Guys, i was traveling so while this came in on Monday, i opened it only today. Its a beautiful figure however, i personally think there is way way too much blood paint on it. Infact, as a check i usually bounce with my wife. She was also really looking forward to it and she does not follow any forums so usually her impressions are not colored. But in this case i guess color it was ;)

Way too much blood paint is what she said. Not just face, if you see the knee part it looks like (i) painted it. And i (me) painting anything is no complement :(

There is. I don't mind it on the flesh but on the endo parts its pretty badly overdone, they don't stand out enough. It just wasn't like this in the film. What we have here is a case of HT thinking HT knows best - and being wrong.

Interesting is the damaged coat realy tight or small ? I would think the half sleeve would be make it easy and with half the arm out also. Again so arm came out easy then ? For some reason i have some weard empathy on not making my Arnold into fubarred mode hence why i bought a xtra bullet riddled coat so machine gun look for one of them and scanning pose on battle damged with thumper and pistol.

Honestly, I think his body has more room to move in this coat than the DX10 had in his. It's just the procedure in getting the stump through can be a little tricky, just be careful and don't tear it.

I also had to heat up the clean arm to remove, probably due to the fact everything within the box was really cold.

I mean, it's not like there is any better option out there or will be. But it just pains when such things are messed up. I mean its a BD figure, at least get the BD paint right on it. Just observed the endo hand piece. I mean its like dipped in marinara sauce (slight exaggeration). Is mine the only one like that? There is no chrome look on it

Another thing i dint like is the belt. Very very thin compared to dx10. The pant keeps lowering from under the belt front, i can adjust it but the belt does seem very very thin.

No, both of mine are the same. If it isn't full-on blood paint there's a kind of coppery hue to it all, no straight-up chrome or even silver. Its a definite disappointment with the figure along with maybe a slight misjudgement of the bulk he should be (although I don't blame them quite so much for that, its a tough balancing act)

As much as I understand their situation, I hate that they close on Friday. :(

What carrier was it shipped by? I'm pretty sure UPS and FedEx have a "long weekend" and don't deliver nor offer pick up until Monday.

UPS. I mean it's not a huge deal that it comes Friday but I paid for overnight. She specifically offered me the option of today or Friday and I picked today so it's a little frustrating. I think it's really on UPS though. :dunno

If you can iron HT's bandolier I actually dig the way NECA sculpted the ammo holders.

Most or the mill scene has a bluish tone to it so the light it comes with looks pretty ok i guess. Plus as it is the overtly orange paint ap on his face looks like pulp, and orange light on top of it... May look bad. But may be i am wrong.

I ordered a part for work UPS overnight from our sister office in a city that is 300 miles away. UPS sent it to a distribution hub 1500 miles away in Canada, I did not get it until two weeks later.

I'll get right down to business and post my impressions in point form:

- Absolutely THE figure to have as a T2 fan.
- The blood/endo paint issue doesn't look too bad in person.
- PERS is really tight, I can't move the eyes up and down like the DX10.
- I couldn't fit the head on the DX10. The ball looks slightly bigger so it wouldn't fit the internal neck plug.
- I really wish HT just went with ERS. It moves just fine on the full bd head.
- The arm is really tough to switch. I should have used heat, but the hair dryer was way over there. If I buy a second body to display semi bd and switch between arm on and off, I may shave down the connection.
- The jacket is thinner and easier to futz than the DX10. I love the damage and weathering. Way better than the real leather gimmick.
- Comparing the sculpts, it practically looks like a customizer took the DX10 sculpt, did some resculpting over it, pushed the PERS in better, and did a quality paint job on it. A lot of the shape of the DX10 is still there, but it really was taken to a whole new level.
- The T-1000 sure is shiny. It looks good for what it is, but right now it just feels like it's taking up space.
- It took a lot of force to put the stand together.
- The rod should have been metal.
- This figure and my 1/4 Batman destroy the rest of my collection.

That makes me so sad. I thought ClipperKing had the DX13 head on the DX10 in his video? I so wanted to pull that terrible sculpt off the DX10 and replace it with the stage 2 damaged head!

My box was pretty beat up too. One of the corners/creases was torn almost a full inch down, like a worn out old book.:slap

I also had trouble putting the stand together. I ended up shoving it in not caring if It broke. The arm was a pain to take out but no harm done. No way I'm messing with the arm again.

This figure has been officially approved by the gf :yess: (though I was getting it anyway :lol). She doesn't like Arnold, but once she saw the full BD head, she was totally impressed. Always nice to know when a new figured won't cause any waves

Also, haven't been commenting much but I have been keeping up with the thread, and there are some magnificent pics in here by all that have him. You have amazingly proved that from a right distance, for the second sculpt we may not need the extra bd body. Also, with so much redness in the body i think i will stick to a dx 10 body with some work here or there.

Congrats to all the new owners!
Just got mine from timcent, regular version no taxes and arrives quite fast!

Now its a beautiful figure, the accessories are great and those hs are beautiful. Seriously the Best 1/6 Arnold sculpts so far.
Now im not as overwelmed by it as i tought i would be, maybe because i already own EB bd 1/4 so this version of the character is known to me. I already had a few mms117 dx10 parts around so i was able to build the two versions already and the semi bd is my favorite so far ( its missing the damaged torso because its on a ttm20 might get a dx13 if i can later down the road).

Now i got two nitpick, first im surprised how the boot are clean, my mms117 boots look better, definitly Will swap them.

Second i really dont like the whole silhouette, he feels too normal not bulky enough. And that is with the original bd body or the ttm20. He looks like a normal dude, of course near another regular sized figure he looks big, might be because of the Neck.... Dunno...
From what ive read before it looks closer to arnolds actual size in the movie but for my taste its too skinny ^^!

Lucky for me i have some mms17 bodies left im gonna try that and see if i like it better :)

Enjoy your new figures guys :)

Regarding putting the head on the DX10, I was just saying that the ball on mine was too big for the neck connector. I'm not sure if other people aren't having the same problem, or if they are removing the DX10 neck connector before putting the DX13 head on, which I'm sure would work just fine. I'm going to try again tonight.

Anyone want to confirm how they get the head on the DX10 body?

The contrast of the T-1000 beside the figure and against the black backdrop is phenomenal. So glad I have another on order because it truly is worthy owning two. This figure truly is amazingly iconic.

Mmm!

Funny strange how Hot Toys got it so wrong. MMS117? clothes should be on the DX10 and DX10 clothes on the MMS117. The MMS117 boots should be on the DX13. Everything is all balanced out.

Yet it's disappointing if you only had to own one because then everything would look wrong. Of course you don't really notice it until you have them all side by side. Thats when you see how maculate and weathered the parts are.

Edit: upon checking, the DX13 are the cleanest. They should be on the MMS117. The DX10 boots are perfect on it's own release.

Yeah I forgot to mention the boots but I noticed that straight away, virtually no weathering on them whatsoever, like they just totally forgot. There's almost a bluey hue on mine. Haven't bothered to swap them yet but I will, or maybe I'll scratch them up a bit or something.

Some great shots posted. Though I have to say the lack of chrome on the endoparts is bugging me more and more. I sense thats going to be my major beef with this figure. There's always gotta be something hasn't there.

Mine is fine on the partial head, but the full BD head is pretty bronze looking.

Anyone else have a few of their tiny silver fasteners pop off the BD jacket? Three of mine fell off, rescued two, the other now lives under my floorboards. It comforts me to know it's down there, out of reach, but still in my possession.

Hey guys, I just wanted to say something about movie accuracy.

I just watched the movie and I noticed that when the T-800 lost him arm, you could easily see Arnie tuck his own arm behind his back causing a really obvious bulge...

The fact that the figure looks so Fword good missing an arm is actually considered not movie accurate.

Also the bandolier really rotates a lot through the film

Just some useless fodder

I figured it would be the same but no, it didn't work and I used a fair amount of force, much more than when putting the heads on their respective bodies.

Semi damaged head.... check
Bandolier + bullets....check
Grenade launcher.....check

MMS to modify....check..

parts still missing:

BD jacket (or I'll modify the MMS version with home made bullet holes)
BD hands...

Luckily, for relatively little money I will be able to update my, now completely outdated MMS and turn him into a figure of respectable shelf presence, enough to bridge the next few years 'till HT issues a new version :)

The exclusive T-1000 head is better than I thought it would be. They made it so it graduates from the smooth liquid metal into where its starting to take the shape of his hair etc. I had assumed it was just gonna be a straight up chromed RP head which would look silly on this otherwise totally smooth liquid metal statue.

Although it now makes less sense to use it on a normal clothed T-1000 figure - not that that made much sense to begin with.

Does he have the chest damage pre vs. SWAT ream? Excuse my ignorance I'm having a senior moment.

Also that is a fantastic shot Rorywan, well done.

I can also see the rod from this release being a nice addition to the BD Robocop figure just like when Clarence stabs it into his chest/heart.

Cheers bud. It has been a few years since I have seen the movie and I couldn't remember.

I was going for the DX10 (Galleria), DX13 first head sculpt on a non damaged body with mini-gun and then the second DX13 head sculpt full blown BD.

So the second look may not be movie accurate but screw it.

Yeah, that's what I think, too. The battle damage to the chest and knee is too distinctive to repeat, for my tastes. I don't want to look at two Arnie's side-by-side with the exact same damage. Much prefer an inaccurate inbetween stage on display... so guess I'll be on the hunt for another DX10 as opposed to buying a duplicate DX13 set. Guessing DX10 will be going for pretty cheap six months from now or so.

Yeah, I'm going to try again to get the DX13 head on my DX10 tonight. I don't mind the chest damage missing... for now.

The knee and hands damage comes when he rolls off of the truck into the steel mill.

Next is arm taken off damage.

Finally, full bd head.

For me, the ball on the bottom of the head wouldn't fit into the neck plug. Apparently, I'm the only one who has this problem so I'm going to give it another go tonight. I want to pose the DX10 walking toward the SWAT team with the semi-bd head.

If I'm correct in my earlier post, there would be 4 stages:

1. Semi-bd head, semi-bd jacket, bd chest
2. All of the above plus bd leg and bd gloves (minor nit: they put flesh on the left bd gloves)
3. Semi-bd head, full-bd jacket with missing arm, bd gloves and leg
4. Full-bd head plus the rest of 3

Right now I have 4 displayed but I would like to acquire the extra parts to make one figure to represent 1-3: semi-bd head with pants, gloves, jacket, and arm to switch out.

Yep. Every stage of damage (not down to the bullet holes mind you) and more than one of some of those stages if I deem the scenes important enough or cool enough to display. Dioramas for the Steel Mill sure would be nice.

It's a UK joke. Seems nearly most phones, computers and such serviced have been caught with homemade/porn and the really bad one. Including politicians. Same the other day hearing Radio 2 and a lot of photographers getting labelled as peados in public with cameras. Guilty until proven innocent.

Ahh, I see. I knew I was missing something on that comment.

It came back to life the other day and I posted some crap pics last night actually. Must be about 10 pages back.

I just don't have very good pic-taking conditions. My camera is getting on and I see marks and dirt on and inside the lens, my room is a total disaster zone, I have no atmospheric lighting and have only been able to use the main room light which sucks donkey scrote and makes everything yellow.

My Pescadero diorama has cool lighting but its not ideally located for me to take pics in it. At the moment I can't even use the blue lighting of the corridor section because its not near enough to a mains socket and I don't have an extension cable. I'd have to move the diorama, which is a total pain in the arse because its in sections which have to be disassembled and then painstakingly put back together.

And my diamond shoes are too tight! (old 'Friends' joke)

I dunno, DX08 and 09 and now 14 are pretty positive overall. DX14 did have the complaining 'this shouldn't be a DX' etc etc but everyone thinks it looks great.

Robocop and ED-209 received great responses too. Except for the complaints about it not being all inclusive for the full BD look and Weller's exposed face.

Yeah true, DX08, 09 were very well received, this seems bigger though doesn't it. I personally love the DX14 but compared to this it was like getting an empty DX box?

This one has everything going for it, 2 sculpts, both amazing, fantastic PERS, light function, alternate clothing, arm pieces, and a load of accessories. Similar to Sparrow as a mind blowing overall package.
I'm hoping Robo will be just as impressive, keeping my eye on the EB 1/4 as well for that.

Oh you've gone for a SWAT version on the left by the looks of it. No knee battle-damage at that point. I'll be doing that.

Did he have so much chest damage during the swat scene. I may need to pop in the DVD.

Also, you rightly said, that chrome not being there on endo parts is bothering me a lot as well. Also the paint / makeup look in the movie had a feel that he was rammed by steel, rolled onto the floor, a bit of a blood + external accumulation feeling. the paint look on the figure is like his face was scratched by a ninja sword and all red and orange as a slice would be. Just my thoughts.

Unless something changes drastically, robocop would be tough to beat next year. Good point. I usually give sculpts a much higher order of choice and since both the sculpts in dx11 the laughing one and the other one came out wonderful, including the nuances like yellow teeth etc. i felt that would edge it out. Plus it had more accessories than dx13.

Once again i love the dx 13 but its tough to ignore what they did with the paint.

Yes, if the reason would be that (how many done etc) then yes. But if it would be which sculpt is better as a stand alone figure i feel joker would edge it out. I am a bigger fan of terminator and its tough for me to say this but they did nail both of those sculpts on the joker. If you see the laughing one they got his teeth, tongue every darn think near perfect.
