Altough the sculpt is equally good as part 3 and this is also the rendition of Classic Jason,like I said,the Body is not good enough and judging by the proto pics,they didnt include the wool vest under his shirt,so he looks a little skinny... I will reserve my final judgement when I have it in my hands,but for me, part 3 is unbeatable.
Also, about the part 3 neck,I dont mind at all that he has no neck joint.The lack of neck joint for me makes the figure less toyish and even has a premium format-statuesque feel to it.

The figure itself has a neck joint, its just that the head sculpt runs down the length of the neck and partialy onto his shoulder area, so it is just a more difficult to move his head. If you felt the uncontrollable need to do so you can twist his head from side to side. Its kinda like the Halloween mask you buy that cover you head, down your neck and rest on you shoulders.

VII is a phenomenal figure...secound only to part 3 IMHO...The rubber suite is very well done by SS and adds a great deal to the appeal of part VII...In no way has the word scrawny ever poped into my mind when trying to describe Jason VII!!! He is really a great figure!

When I say "scrawny", I meant that it looks like the clothes hang very loosely on the body as though there's not much body mass beneath it. Is that the case? The main pic on the order page is an example.

No, I wouldn't say so...Those pictures really do make him look scrawny. I dont know if those were prototype pix or not, but my clothes fit him MUCH better. The jacket for one seems much smaller than the one in the SS pix, and with a little watter treatment lays very nicely on his body. His pants are a little large though, but with some water treatment they hang on him much better..

It is well worth the money...I have never heard anyone have anything bad to say about this figure...I really one of the best Jasons...And could easyly be considered the best, though my Part 3 has a special place in my heart.

Thank you very much, you guys. Like I said, it'll likely be awhile. First, my wife and I have to get back on our feet financially. Then I'll be filling my current pre-orders, then going back for Mace and Han (concurrently with existing pre-orders), then I was considering 006, Duncan MacLeod, and maybe Xenia to round out the Goldeneye set (my mom's getting me Goldeneye Bond for my birthday).

Maybe somewhere in that whole mess will be Part VII Jason... :rolleyes:

I really believe this Jason will be special, Dooley rocked the sculpt, this Jason has a removeable mask and the gag feature is insane, not to mention the severed hand, most of all (unlike JP3) only 666 of these were made, so he will always command a higher price IMO.

Yeah, I'm not very sure what that thing is, actually. It's magnetic and its eyes light up red when the button on its head is pressed. Says something about being manufactured for Burger King on the bottom.

Brief story behind it:

About two years ago, my office was in the same suite as Pierce Brosnan's. When MGM got bought by Sony, we all had to find new offices. On the last day, I wandered into Pierce's vacated office and saw this little guy on the windowsill, looking out onto Broadway. So I snagged him.

OK, I got the exclusive version. The 'gag machete' basically is the same machete that comes with the others, but the bottom side is "cut out" in the shape of Jason's head. The back of Jason's head has a hole in it and a peg from the machete goes in to hold it in place. Havne't quite figured out where the front peg really goes though. It leaves a little room in the front (not looking real because of it). So I assume I'm not putting it exactly where it should. Could we get some instructions on how to properly attach it Dusty? Do the regulars have the hole in the back of their head?

I have the other regular machete cutting his left hand. It isn't one of Jason's happiest moments. :lol

Just another update, there is a slight groove/peg entrance for the other peg of the machete to move into. It makes the machete line up with the head and it looks quite real (more so than if he didn't already have blood on his face).

Shai, I think the mask staps could cover the hole up. Besides you could always add some blood to the hole and give Jason yet another bloody wound. :lol

I would also like to point out that for the first time since the release of the first Jason, I don't think we have a Jason on order! Come on Spooktacular! Give us a Jason (or even a Roy)!

Also, an FYI, if you are not having his mask on (because of the Machete or other reasons) the knife that came with the Part VI Jason is a good knife to match up with the knife stabbing the hockey mask poster (like seen in the figure's card back).

Lastly, the twisty ties go under his shirt and around his shoulders. This isn't bad though since his shirt buttons off easily.

i am so pissed. i recieved my jason final chapter regular and exlusive and both of the boxes were crushed beyond any type of repair. thank god that i have sideshows number on speed dial and called to have them send replacement boxes and stickers (sideshow is good about that). i go to the boxes to see that sideshow doesnt even put any kind of warning or fragile labels when they send out the 12" figures, that really makes me upset. sideshow needs to do this to prevent the lackies at UPS to kick around the packages like they were PELE.

Pretty kewl figure. Needed to snip the thumb from the fingers to get the weapons to fit though and a strap came loose from the mask :monkey4

The mask pinches a bit, but some hot/cold water and shape will take care of that.

Mine arrived today, and luckily for me, the UPS box wasnt too dinged up.. as this shipping box fit the exact size of the jason box (no bubble wrap). It has some sorta residue on the back however.. and I also received the ultra exclusive Lazy Chinese factory worker edition as my "Sideshow Exclusive" sticker was stuck on upside down!

Got my exclusive yesterday and I love it! The shipping box was beat up a bit but the product box was nice and minty. Another fine job Sideshow! :D

Got my exclusive today, like it a lot more than I expected to from the early pics(bigger than I expected, and fills out his clothes much better). Some flaws though:

-the mask feels cheap and a bit flimsy. The Jason mask from my FvsJ Freddy is far better quality and that's not even an essential accessory for Freddy.

-the closed right hand is hard to fit the machete into, though I got it in.

-the gag knife doesn't seem as cool in person.

-the pamela voorhees tombstone looks really small.

All in all though I'm very happy with him.

I got home last night to find that Jason had arrived, and I haven't had much time to play with him, I have to agree with a lot of Bluesparrow's concerns as well. The mask is a little off-shape and flimsy, but some hot water can fix that right up, and the machete gag is neat, but it isn't as striking in person, especially when he is standing on a shelf full of Jasons and Freddys!

I love the tombstone though, this was really nicely done!

But I must say that I am not a big fan of the Big Boy body..... Posing it is a b*tch!! It never holds a pose well and all of the Jason's that sport it just look goofy. I wish they were a little better designed.... as I know that it would improve the coolness of the figure. The machete's were great, with very nice blood paint apps on both of them, finally an improvement there. The other accessories were cool as well, especially the tombstone.

I'm a big fan of this particular film so seeing the figure finally is nice. Can't wait to repaint him and see if I can make some magic happen!!! :D

Best head/paint/sculpt combo goes to Jason X, IMO. The detailed scupt and dead on paint aps rule. J3 and J7 are close runner ups. I'd put J4 4th.

But I must say that I am not a big fan of the Big Boy body..... Posing it is a b*tch!! It never holds a pose well and all of the Jason's that sport it just look goofy. I wish they were a little better designed.... as I know that it would improve the coolness of the figure. The machete's were great, with very nice blood paint apps on both of them, finally an improvement there. The other accessories were cool as well, especially the tombstone.

I'm a big fan of this particular film so seeing the figure finally is nice. Can't wait to repaint him and see if I can make some magic happen!!! :D

What exactly is the correct color of Jason's shirt and pants. Some of the Sideshow figures have them both the same color and others are two different colors. I looked at the Camp Crystal Lake book today and it seems to change from a Greenish-Gray in parts 3 and 4 to a blueish-Green and blacks in other films. So what is the most correct color of his clothes?

Well, BM.... the shirt for Jason in Parts 3-6 was Olive Green.... very dark, but the same color throughout those flicks... In 7 it was Grey and in 8 it was nearly Black. JGTH was greyish blue and I could not tell in Jason X... but I think it was grey again.

His pants were grey in each film except Part 8.... which again... for reasons unknown... was nearly black. :lol

Sideshow has done a decent job with shirt color with the figures, not being so off as to piss off picky fans... :lol But this one has the most color accurate shirt EVER! It looks grey in pics... but it's the Olive Green all the way. :cool:

You know, that was one of those things that Friday fans talked about for a while... and true that Jason X was a horrible horrible movie... BUT the one cool thing that they touched upon was Jason's ability to regrow lost and damaged tissue.... I would assume this is how he goes from Zombie to human again and regrows his eye over and over. :lol

I got mine yesterday and I'm disappointed. I have all of them but this one seems flimsy to me. I would have imagined that it would have the same type of padded body that the part 3 one has (with that hump). I'm just not as pleased with it as I thought I would be. It's given me great nostalgia but that wore off fairly quickly. Guess I'll have to kit-bash it to salvage it the way I did part six. I don't know why the stitching is so bright on it. It looks like different clothing than what he wore in Part 3, just not very consistent. I guess because it was such a huge movie for me as a kid that I'm harder on it than I should be -but I don't think I am.

Wow....Thanks guys! I really wanted this one to work. I've seen about 100 different masks, all painted differently... especially in regards to blood... so I wanted to take the best parts of all of those masks and bring it to this figure.

No change in shirt.... I just took a fine point sharpie and went over the white stitching until it was all covered. I'll take some gag machete pics for you guys soon!!

Am I the only one that thinks the machetes' blood this time was a bit odd? It looked like they painted it with bright red blood first and then went back and added a darker color, but left a little bit of a border. It just doesn't seem quite right.

Thanks man.... I WANTED it to look like the part 3 shirt, so that's quite the compliment. I splattered blood on it as well to complete the illusion. Turned out rather well.

And yeah, the blood on the machete is very well painted, but the border makes it look a little strange... :lol

Thanks guys.... It means a lot to me.. The white stitching and the blood spot on his head were just bothering me too much. A lot of care went into making sure he looked right. The lips aren't that purple really, either... but the pics bring it out.. :lol

Finally got my Jason today and I must say that I'm very happy with him. I had to bulk him up, he was a little scrawny when he got here. He looks much better now. I like the gag machette but cant find a pose with it I like, so the mask went back on. Also I will have to do the Josh treatment to the stiching. Over all I really like him though. Now one of my top 3 Jasons. And part 3 is still safe at number one. I thought if there was ever gonna be a Jason to rival him it was gonna be this one, but he dont stand a chance against the all mighty part 3!!!! Definitely a 4 star Jason!!!!

Careful with the gag machete! I put mine in place last night and I found that one of the little nubs had broken off this morning as I found the machete laying next to the figure this morning. I would have thought Sideshow could have desinged this bit a little better.
