View Full Version : Would you buy the entire X-men team if made?

After getting Wolverine I'm now convinced the rest of the team needs to be made, so how many would get each team member released?:lol

Wolverine is great but I think I would just pick up a couple.

BigLeagueChu

Only if they were based on Jim Lee. So that excludes this Wolvie already.

Gruson

I would buy all of the main ones for sure.

This Wolverine could pass for Jim Lee. He did draw Wolverine in this costume often.

I too prefer Jim Lee X-men.

hell yes, I love x-men and would love the entire team, But then again, I will need a new Wolverine as I already cancelled this one :D

The entire team? Through it's whole history? That'd be about a thousand figures?

If we're talking PF - Y..

Actually, NO. Not a big X-fan really.

Can you imagine how cool that would look with the entire team made? Wow.

I don't know about all of them, but I'm definitely down for Nightcrawler, Beast, Archangel, Bishop and Cable.

All the X-Men is a very big group. If we are talking about PF or Comiquette figures, I would probably only get a few. I would get a few more if it they were in a VS diorama. But just look at this X-Men poster:

http://www.starstore.com/acatalog/Xmen-group-poster-01.jpg

That isn't even scratching the surface!

Looks like I'll be collecting Sideshow X-men for a LONG while then!

SolidLiquidFox

I'll take more dioramas. Some individual sculpts would be hard to ju$$$tify unless is a something that blows me away.

Dioramas with 2-3 characters save money, space and gives us the characters faster. Example: I probably wouldn't buy a Cyclops PF or Comiquette but I gladly take him in the current diorama.

I liked those costumes as well but a lot of other fans didn't.

The costumes are no longer relevant and neither are Forge and Banshee.

I guess we'll see on this one. Love that Jim Lee pic though!

As long as they base the figures on the comics and not the movies..

gambit
08-23-2006, 10:17 PM
actually, if Sideshow can come up with diaromas of 2-3 characters and the bases of the diaromas match (which allows you to have a great huge diaroma if you buy all the diaroma pieces) then it would be really really something.

I would IF sideshow made them. I have absolutely no interest in the Medicom ones - way too expensive for what they are - they all seem anorexic.

If sideshow made them however I'd grab them in a second. I too vote for the costumes off the x-men from the time they split between Blue and Gold Teams - that's when I started collecting X-men and they are the definitive uniforms for me. I'd be up for both teams from that time period, as well as X-Force. I believe Gambit was an addition after the start of those series and I'd be up for him. I haven't touched base with it for about 6 years but I don't really have any interest in any characters from Marrow onwards (and that dude with the worms for guts). I didn't really follow X-Calibur or X-Factor but there would be some from each of those teams who I'd be interested in (Nightcrawler and Havok definitely, maybe Polaris & Strong Guy).

Cyclops, Storm, Beast, Colossus, Nightcrawler, Archangel, Gambit, Rogue, and Jean.

If I did buy an X-Men team it would be the team as they appeared in the original Secret Wars. From memory that would be Storm w/mohawk, Brown Costume Wolverine, Collosus, Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Rogue.

Absolutely classic line-up.

Yep, however I'm actually surprised how cool Wildcats (and Cyberforce) turned out to be given how blatantly derivative they were. Remember the "Misery" crossover? I actually thought that was quite the page turner back in the day. How silly that all seems now. :lol

SolidLiquidFox
08-24-2006, 08:43 AM
You are telling me. I was a huge Wildcats fan back in the day and I will be picking up the new series coming soon since Jim Lee is doing it again.

The Misery crossover was called Killer Instinct if I recall correctly. It basically gave us an excuse to put both Wolverine characters (Ripclaw and Warblade) against one another. It was fun for what it was: classic Image comics in the 90's. :D

Wouldn't Colossus be cooler as a PF? They can use the shiny paint paint for the body, but for once there would be actual clothes making up the uniform and he wouldn't be shiny all over. Not an X-fan, but that would be cool. However a comiquette I would have no interest in.

Similar bases and same scale.

Group would have to consist of:

Proffesor Xavier
Cyclops
Jean Gray
Ice-Man
Archangel - blue skin and metal wings
Beast - Blue ape-like version
Colossus
Storm
Psylocke
Rogue
Jubilee
Gambit
oh and lets see, what was his name...........

oh yeah, duh........Wolverine.

Preferably a Jim Lee version of them all.

Only the majority of them. There were a few redesigns I did not care for. Colossus stands in mind as well as Cyclops' long hair. I liked Banshee's better than his 616 outfit.

TOE, you need to try and pic up the issues, if not then at least pick up the trade paperback. I really liked the story and how all the X-books at the time followed it. I at least thought all the books coagulated together nicely. If you are an x-fan try it out.

SolidLiquidFox

Age of Apocalypse is Joe Madureira's greatest moment in his somewhat inconsistent career. There is lots of anime influence to some of the redesigns he did which is probably why I like the characters in his Astonishing X-Men book so much: Magneto, Iceman, Rogue, Sunfire, Blink, Quicksilver and Nightcrawler stand out as improvements over whatever the current look was a the time.

I would love to see a series of maquettes or dioramas based on these. I know another company is releasing busts but is not the same.

Here are some cover pics I found for those of you that have no idea what we are talking about:

Also, here is a detailed summary of the Age of Apocalypse done at www.uncannyxmen.net

http://www.uncannyxmen.net/db/time/showfaq.asp?fldAuto=13

They have all the issues summaries as well.

I cannot brag about this site enough. These guys have got their summaries down pat. They have literaly over 3,000 issue summaries. Their cross-over guides are great as well. If you are an X-Men comic book fan, check it out.

After you check this site out, have you seen an Avenger's site that is as good as this. If so, please let me know.

No problem, yeah I remember it too. I had gotten rid of all of my comics shortly after the AoA. Then had to go back and get them all back, and the entire run of AoA was one of them. I remember reading the 4 issue intro when Storm, Bishop and Ice-Man followed Legion back in time the spring of my senior year.
