it's possible to leave the jacket off this figure?

The jacket does unzip all the way but i would stop at the strap/belt on the jacket though and just hold the zip and pull it over and off body that way.

Just got this piece yesterday, must say I am very impressed with everything. Im a sucker for diorama bases. The box is bigger and heavier than other HTs, which suprised me.

Huge thanks goes to my pal The Skull for convincing me to pick this figure up. I was originally on the fence about it and was not really digging the expression on the sculpt; now that it is in-hand, I am loving this figure. The expression does not bother me one bit, in fact, I really like how much emotion and shelf presence this figure has overall.

My only nitpick and complaints of this figure would be that the suit itself hinders the articulation and keeps Wolverine from achieving many dynamic poses. Also, the ankles on this guy are pretty weak and he cannot stand up on his own very well, but I use stands to display my figures so it is not really a big issue. Everything else is the usual Hot Toys quality stuff. :yess:

Glad to finally have a Wolverine on my shelf.

That's a bit of a bummer. I like my figures to be able to stand on their own. The original Wolverine had really good ankle joints.

Yeah after market for the real thing with be more than $79 for the head and claw hands alone, Which I will say don't look too bad on the bootleg.... Nice animation!

As to how to post a photo: go to the reply window and you'll see little icons across the top. The square icon with a grey mountain and grey sun on a yellow background is the image post button. Click it and you will get a pop up window field where you paste the URL to your image location. That means you will have to have your photos uploaded to somewhere like flickr. In flickr (or whatever other photo hosting site you use), you will need to right click on the picture you want and choose "view image". That will link you to the image all by itself in the window, and then you can just copy and paste the URL that is in that URL field on your browser. OR just click "copy image location" and that SHOULD be the URL.

I think that should do it.

I have already tried putting things like "[url]" and "[img]" before but it's not happening. Maybe because it's not a pic.

It looks like that animation page you have is flash based, so if you wanted to post it just like that, that's probably the problem.

Embedding the pictures into the post means you need a single image file like a jpeg, gif, bmp, etc., that lives in a regular HTML based web page.

Just checking some things on that vine page.

https://vines.s3.amazonaws.com/r/thumbs/A3909AF5-5443-4B83-8A96-5ECE5ABD8405-606-00000055B5F99271_16590b507f5.1.3.mp4.jpg

This is the only image I was able to get from the animation because it seems to be an mpeg (movie) file.

I was also able to grab this:

https://vines.s3.amazonaws.com/v/avatars/A8AB0893-99C7-47E2-81D7-E3183565BFBE-12090-00000A791EB9F7A9.jpg

That's about the extent of my coding powers, I'm afraid!

I'm not sure how you can post the mpeg file. Sorry!

Hi, i was in Hong Kong today and I visited some shops.

Wolverine figure was in Toys legend shop and price was 138 HK$. So 178 USD.

I was about to buy it but I better stick to TDK trilogy items or I'll open new door to a very expensive future!

There were few stock in Toy Hunters... but not for sale. They said to me waiting for who preordered it

I don't know about Wolverine price but Toys Legend has great prices for other figures: sweeney Tod is 77 HKD, Nicholson Joker 158 HKD, one of the predators was 78 HKD

But finally i didn't buy anything. I was looking for Batman Armory and it was sold out

Bye!

If you haven't seen it in person, you haven't seen the sculpt yet. I cancelled my pre-order of this figure twice before I finally just went all in and bought it, and the difference between photos of that sculpt and it in hand are night and day.

No picture I've seen of this figure does it justice, and the sculpt is incredible in person.

He really is a well executed figure!! He might take a while to sell out - he's overpriced and light on extras, but he'll be a sort out figure in years to come. I also think it's his definitive movie look in this costume (rather than the Origins version). That last photo posted with the line up of figures really shows how top notch he is. Look at that sculpt and paint details - amazing!!! It makes the Medicom version (which was good for it's time) look like it came from a showbag!!! Unbelievable :)

I like the non neutral face on the new fig, I know some were not sure about the expression but I think its a good look. Too many HT figs have no expression, all pretty dead-pan imo.

http://i983.photobucket.com/albums/ae317/mattbidz/DSCF1527_zps10b38239.jpg

Very good manoeuvrability in the legs, the arms are a bit stiff, the costume is a bit restrictive and the hands are a bit of a pain, they pop out real easy if you don't push them all they way down.

I have a question, who wins this fight typically in the comics? Can the Hulk be "cut" open?

playboy409

It depends, I've seen Hulk win, and I've seen Wolverine win. In Old Man Logan, Wolvie wins, in Ultimate Hulk Vs Wolverine, I would say Hulk won. In the animated Hulk vs Wolverine, it was a tie.

Yea. That's the thing with wolverine, he has no super human strenght, so him actually even having a chance vs Hulk is stupid.

Spiderman is stronger vs hulk, not because he can win (he obviously can't), but because he can dodge him.

Its the Ultimate marvel universe its not part of the main continuity so the writers have a lot of leeway to do as they please, the killed peter parker and Mr. Fantastic is a villain. So hey why not

steve74
08-02-2013, 11:58 PM
Old man Logan was not part of the ultimate marvel universe. Wolverine can hold his own against heroes like Hulk and throw a beating on everyone from Cap to Spider-man because he's probably the best fighter in MU. And if he can't beat them all he has to do is sit back, drink beer and out live them.

I like his Origins outfit maybe a tad better, but I could never get behind the Origins sculpt or his non-classic hairdo which is why I skipped that version.

I love the sculpt on this one, and the outfit is impressive in-hand. You wouldn't believe the detail and craftmanship in it. It's a great figure all around.

Although I look forward to this version from X-Men: DOFP:

Yeah, that's gotta be one of the most bizarre things I've ever seen. I wonder if anything is salvageable from it? The hands? The head? Are the clothes sculpted or are they real?

The retarded thing about those statues is....

all the person did was mold a wolverine. they could have posed him anyway they wanted for the statue, but they chose that laim pose, so there he is, one solid piece, like a painted chocolate easter bunny.

Hopefully. There is no real pattern with Hot Toys. Unless it's a movie predicted to be a HUGE blockbuster, Hot Toys doesn't really have a pattern to unveiling of their figures.

But if The Wolverine is really getting a figure, I'd say at the very least, expect a reveal before the end of 2013.

I gotta admit this figure looks nothing like Hugh Jackman no matter how u pine for it. Its a nicely detailed figure that has nothing to do with movie accuracy.

It doesn't look exactly like Jackman, but I think a large part is because of the expression. Now if we had a screen cap of Jackman doing the exact same facial expression, I bet it looks more like him.

Without a doubt I do see some Jakman in this sculpt and on the shelf this figure screams Jackman's Logan. It is Logan and it is Hugh Jackman's interpretation.

I love this figure, it's a great one, and a great representation of Wolverine in X1-3. However, I think Hot Toys will better themselves with The Wolverine figure.

If you're a fan of movie Wolverine, you got to get this figure and The Wolverine one. If you're not a super huge fan of Logan on screen, but you still want him to have a space on your shelf, then I'd wait for The Wolverine version.

I am on the fence this one because I only want it to be displayed with two other particular figures and honestly I am wondering if he would look too big next to them. Does he have a more muscular body than the Origins one??

I have red and blue Spider-man from Spider-man 3, and the First Avenger Captain America. So I got Spidey, and an Avenger, and I need a Wolverine to represent the X-men. Then I want to display these three with my Marvel movies.

Can someone who has these three figures take some shots of what they look like together? Thanks.

That's good to hear

We tried to fix the zipper and also tried stitching buttons in his jacket in place of the zipper. All fail. End of the day. We just laughed ( I laughed longer because she was the one that did the stitching part).

Also, It took me almost an hour to put that leather pants back on.

Thank God I was smart enough to first take shots of him in his civilian outfit first before switching costumes.

Lol same here. I'm stuck here with a lease for 4 months. I leased the place for a job. Turns out the job sucks so I'm looking for other options in the area.

Now that the collectors who pre-ordered this figure, own it. Those who wanted it have it. The casual fans remain. We might have a little money and we start the debate to ourselves if we want to make the purchase.
This is where I think HOT TOYS new "mantra" of "charge em more, give them less" might start to backfire. For us casual fans of the character we start to think "Well what am I getting for $220?", "is it worth it?". For me I look at the figure which is nice, but I see a lack of accessories etc. In the end I don't see $220+ for this figure and I walk away. Still a nice figure!

I would have bought this if the HS wasnt so terrible, i would have taken either a normal head or an all out berserker rage head, this was just off, and we didnt even get a toothbrush....

The hs looks fantastic to me, but it's pretty obvious that you hate it. :lol Looks like a pissed off Wolverine and the detail and paint is great imo.

:lol I like the HS though the expression is debatable. It's the outfit that blows it for me. I'd only want 1 Wolverine for my shelf and having him in this suit ain't it.

I do like this better than Zod who looks like he broke his jaw on a Gobstopper.

Fixed that for you :D

Its a quality head (like all HT) but wrong for the character

Zod is a bit off imo but for me im just gunna be using the helmet head anyway, at least they gave that option. Plus their likely gunna do a spandex suit version and likely that will have a better head. I think the sculpt would benefit from the heat vision effect

I don't know man, he looks mean to me, but if you don't like, then you don't like it. I'm not going try and tell you otherwise, so you save yourself some money not buying him. :peace

Initially, I had the same impression of him too. His teeth reminded me of my hamster's. But when you actually get this figure in hand. It's a whole new story. Try looking at the HS from a different perspective. Look at the head overall and don't focus on the teeth.

I have 2 of these and used to have 2 origins. I find it much easier to pose this guy than the origins because his face expression imo matches action. Can't really pose the origins ver when he has a straight serious face.

Btw I figured out how to remove the jacket without ruining the zipper or cutting the stitch at the end of the jacket.

Fair enough but would you not find a full on berserker rage head better? Just saying they made the effort to add expression, why not go all the way with it

Take the pants off and slide it down instead of over his body?

The berserker head is decent. That kind of head requires extreme poses IMO.

Just got old logan and I must say like many other the head sculpt is leaps and bounds better in person when you can see it from a 'real' perspective.
Also I think regardless of opinion on likeness (i think it's pretty good) or the expression, the Quality of the HS is very well made and painted. The teeth, the veins and the hair are brilliant.
Fantastic figure all round. My only issues are weak ankles and though the sentinel head base looks great, the plastic/rubber type makes it feel a little cheap and to really nit pick its not accurate to the movie. Also some extra parts or a second neutral head would have been nice but hey I'm shooting in the breeze.

Now question does the body have a moulded cod piece or a glued on piece?
Just I Have 18 other male figures and haven't really noticed the 'bulge' before lol.

Hugh Jackman specifically requested the bulge or he wouldn't sign off on the figure. :lol

And it's funny you said "old Logan" because I saw some pics of him from DoFP, and he had the grey streaks in his hair. Can't wait to see figs from that line... which'll be announced but never released of course. :rotfl.

Poor XMFC fans... DoFP is right around the corner so my guess is, they'll turn the Charles Xavier fig that they developed into a Con Exclusive and scrap the rest of the line. Too bad because a few characters are not making it to the sequel:
including White Queen which was a figure I wouldn't have minded seeing.
