I think this is for some people to get just one of... for video reviews.

I can't see this being bought by people for every figure they own. Most probably have them displayed in detolfs... and I'm worried they're going to be ridiculously overpriced.

It's kind of cool, but I don't totally understand this kind of thing for regular collectors. Sort of like the other gimmicks Hot Toys figures have. Nice to be able to use I guess, but most folks usually use them once or twice and never again. So. . .are folks gonna try to leave these on all the time? Just some of the time? I suspect most will just leave most of them off about 99% of the time, making the likely expense questionable. Makes sense for retailers who are trying to promote their figures, though.

Pretty neat but I bet they will be too expensive for people to buy for every figure... maybe 1-2 though.

07-24-2012, 08:14 PM
Totally agree , this stand would be great for reviews , it does say that you can insert movie logos in it

(I wonder how much that sheeet will cost?)

As far as the size of the stand with a figure on it , now way that will work in a Detolf , the figures head will be scraping the top

JonWes
07-24-2012, 08:16 PM
Pretty cool, but I agree the price will probably be to insane to get many. I wonder if the plate for the logo is removable? I feel like most people would probably rather not have it on than to go through the trouble of getting a logo from a movie printed and inserting it.

Really cool, but I hope that the Tron like circles, and the action LTD. things are removable. It'd be cool if HT started pushing these things, and including compatible sheets (decals?) with new figures (I.e. Batman nameplate, and a circular sheet with the TDKR batsymbol).

I don't really see the point if it is just going to use the same diaper stand style most other stands do. Now if it was a clear rod that could actually suspend the figures fairly high into the air then it would actually be worth looking at, but with this you've just got figures standing on a light disk more or less. Waste of money.

Being able to rotate and the interlinking is pretty cool, but I feel like all in all the only point to having these is f you are a vendor putting them on display or doing a video review.

batfan08
07-24-2012, 08:54 PM

I'm just curious about where you can insert them. Are they referring to the front where it says "ActionTT", the top, with the Tron like circles, or both?

Bucky Underbelly
07-24-2012, 08:57 PM
Very cool idea. I especially like the interlinking feature.

Running on battery power looks great and helps keep your display cabinet neat. But batteries get devoured fast when you've got a motor churning. AC compatible, but no AC adaptor? Odd.

It'd be nifty if they could be controlled by remote. But that would no doubt make these crazy expensive.

Totally agree. If they made one that could fit a motorcycle like the Batpod, Ghost Rider, Tron cycle that would have been great. Who knows, if these sell well, they might make it.

These seem to fit their Ironman series the best, since they all have detailed sculpts even at the back.

Looks pretty cool, like the idea but not the execution.

Only works for figures standing upright and the light area is abit too busy, would've been better minimalist than with those fancy circles.

Not something i'd buy but nice idea

One or two figures turning might not be bad, but it probably would not look all that good with a shelf full of rotating figures.
That "Action-TT" makes it look cheap.

This might actually compliment the mark ii's color scheme pretty well. It's US$44 for preorder here. Might consider getting 1 or 2.

I really like the rotating feature but I'm still a lil reluctant. IMO, this is not worth the $44, it's too cheap looking. Kinda like the IM hall of armor custom where the quality doesn't match up to the price. It's quite a bummer cause they're both really awesome ideas.

Ahh..different base designs..now they are getting a bit more interesting. I think i'd also like an 'intermitant mode' so you could switch them on and they would turn at random times for a min or so that way you could leave them on and every time you came back to your display it would be slightly different.

Ok up-date time, I went to my local target an picked up some energizer max batteries that hold power for ten years, apparently important cause the batteries I used first were brand new in the package, however they were laying around the house for a year or so and were dead. The both stands work with the new batteries and now I have to send one back or maybe keep both. Of course keeping both will mean shelling out another 40+ bucks but I'm sure I can find a use for it.

BTW the stands light up nicely and look great, however one stand is abit loud as it rotates:dunno

I ordered 8 of them before the Hall of Armors so I'm going to use them for the Avengers team. They all came in ok, they all worked perfectly but 2 of them are louder then the others. The nameplate is also a removable piece as is the base so anyone can customize any way they want. Pretty decent product IMO.

So does anybody know where to get the nameplates from? Or do we have to make our own?

Maybe Corrose can work his magic and start a run of them on transparent film

I know Corrose makes some awesome decals, but if you want to make your own, you can make some using inkjet transparent sheets that are like $5 a pack that have adhesive on the backs. That's how I make my custom stand decals except I use the white sheets for my HT stands

Hot Toys was supposed to make nameplates for them, hopefully they follow through.

Ok guys , i ended up picking one of these up from SSC using the Valentines code for $25 bucks off a purchase . I couldn't afford a full figure & didn't want to loose the code and miss out . :yess:

I would of never bought this without the code , not that it's not cool , it is pretty awesome , just a little expensive .

Here's me review :wave

So any idea on how to get the custom Name Plates? Thinking about ordering 7/8 of these instead of the Hall of Armor and make name plates ranging from Mark 1 - 7.

Why don't you hit up EvilFace? He custom makes professional labels. He would be the man for the job.
