Adding scars and lesions

Can anyone give any advice on how to add scars and lesions to a body? I've never tried adding any kind of damage to a truetype body before so I don't even know where to begin.

I guess it depends on the type of scarring you're trying to recreate. I've been using Citadel Liquid Green Stuff to add raised scars to a resin headsculpt. Found it very easy to apply with a fine paint brush, or tooth pick The only down side is that it's green, so needs a few layers of paint to cover over the colour. Haven't used it personally, but I've read that Vallejo Liquid Putty is a very similar type of product.

What I'm hoping to do is to add lesions and visible spots under the skin. I found a picture from a Deadpool comic that has the type of damage I want to do.

Citadel Liquid Green Stuff eh might have a go with that myself once i learn to cast heads for a freddy kruger
