Any tips?

I've actually done real full size Indiana Jones jackets before with mixes of acetone/100% alcohol and sandpaper before. They came up fine.

But I'm unsure about the 1/6 pleather type stuff that comes with 1/6 figures. Will it distress like real leather does or will it look totally different ... ??

Any advice would be appreciated !

Hi Sab, a light sanding will take some of the shine off the pleather and roughen the surface, but it will weaken the material slightly, so too much and it will tear.
To "age" pleather I use very fine grade sanding pads that I got from a car parts store. Then I use a pigment powders/pastel powders/drybrushing to add weathering.
I did this on my Mad Maxine figure:

The pleather looks more matt in real life than it does in the picture. :)

Thanks for the info! That figure looks great!

I'm actually trying to improve a Snake Plissken custom.
I think that jacket he wears must be the most distressed movie jacket ever. Its just been massacred LOL

I'll have to try and find the balance between distressing and destroying :D
