Hello Everyone! I'm starting this new thread, because I noticed that the other anime figure/statue thread was mainly just statues.
This thread is for people to show off their collections of articulated anime figures :)
For me that is mainly figma and revoltech figures, thus the title. I am unable to show the figures that I have, because I cannot upload pictures on this computer.
So! I will list the ones that I have right now, I had more but I had to sell some of the figures off. Anyways!! Enjoy the thread everyone!

Figma
1. Black Rock Shooter V. 1
2. BRS- Strength
3. BRS- Dead Master
4. Bakemonogatari Suruga Kanbaru

Revoltech
1. Lupin The Third
2. Hellsing - Alucard

I'm not into the anime figures per se, but I will pick up the Figma Link (and possibly, Samus). I had a Revoltech Jason at one point. Decent figure.

That Samus figure looks so sweet, and the Link I hope will turn out just as nice. Now we just have to hope they make a Zelda figure hah.

The only figmas I own are the Evangelion ones, but I must say I was impressed with all the thought they put into the accessories/stands/little zip-locked bags to store your accessories and all!

I really hope they do Fullmetal Alchemist, because the current options with the Revoltech and Play-Arts Kai just isn't any good at all.

Yeah I'm not a big fan of Revoltech's Fullmetal Alchemist figures, but that Elric figure looks pretty cool. I may have to pick him up.

I have Figma Metis and Aigis from Persona 3.

They announced more P3 figmas coming (Chie and Yukiko) which I'll probably pick up.

There is also the D-arts line by Bandai which I think feel similar to figmas. I have Izanagi and am patiently waiting for Thanatos, which looks amazing.

I don't have any of the d-arts figures, but from what I have seen they look awesome.

I have a couple revoltech Godzilla monster figures. They're pretty cool, but they weren't allowed to make Godzilla, and now Bandai is making the monsterarts figures, which are like bigger versions of the same thing. The revoltechs still make good desk ornaments.

I've always wanted some of the Godzilla figures. I'm not even that big of a fan of the Godzilla movies, but the figures really do look nice.

hurray for the 3rd thread of this flavor :lol perhaps mods do some merging?

I've got several of both. and some D-arts and figuarts as well.

got samus on order, waiting to get Link on order, and Guts was shipped recently

I have three Figmas. Kos-Mos from Xenosaga III, Saber from Fate/Stay Night, and Rei Ayanami from the new Evangelion. Kos-Mos is one of my favorite figures in any scale.

I wish they'd get the Queen's Blade license.

lerath666
04-01-2012, 08:40 AM
Figma made a single Queen's blade figure, though it did not get alot of nice response, as it wasn't cast-off.
About guts, I've heard thst his paint and sculpt are a little weak, and his cape needs to be replaced. as it's made from paper.

I should take all my figma, revoltech, D-arts, amd Figuarts out and set them all up then take a picture.

I've JUST received my Alucard, and I'm eyeing Edward Elric ATM.

Lerath is right. Figma did make a Queen's Blade figure a while back. I have no clue who that character is hah, but those claws did look pretty kick ass. Sort of like their Axe figma. Also, thank you Lerath for posting the links to the other threads.

The only revoltech figures I have are bayformer optimus and bumblebee.
The skulpts and paint jobs on these two figures are nice, but the plastics used in molding them is really bad IMO. The plastic has a rubbery/vinyl like feel to it, making the figures hard to stand and pose because they are so flimsy and rubbery. I wish they would use hard plastic on these figures.

It's a shame that such attention to detail in sculpt and paint is all wasted by the cheap rubbery vinyl material used in making these figures. No more revoltech for me until they go back to the good old fashioned hard plastics.

Not all Revoltechs are made of soft plastic. The Iron Man Revoltechs are made of harder plastic but they do not include stands for some reason... (not that their stands are really any good) I recommend getting some Figma stands for them.

True, I have the alien warrior Revoltech and I think they use a harder plastic as well. I just hope that this use of rubber plastic does not continue to be a trend for revoltech transformers figures.

Figma is nice and I think they are made by "Max Factory". Max factory makes great figures, and they usually don't make too many of them. Their Guyver figures are really well done but very fragile and expensive and very rare and hard to find. Their Karas figure is amazing but, it is extremely rare and hard to find as well, and if you do find him, he is not cheap. I'm looking forward to the Figma berserk figures. The up-coming Griffith figure looks pretty amazing as well.

Darko99

Yup, the Figma figures are made by Max Factory. Also, I do find them to be better than Revoltech imo. However, they tend to be more expensive. I had no idea that those Transformer figures were made of a soft plastic. I have the Lupin the Third figure by them and his body is a hard plastic, but the coat/tie is soft for articulation. Also, does any happen to have the Hellsing Revoltech? I've been looking in to pick him up.

The Optimus Revoltech is not made of really rubbery plastic, just a bit softer than the harder plastic. So not as soft as a coat or tie... and not as soft as some of their early figures.
I like Figmas better as well! But Revoltechs are OK too, for robots especially.

Oh ok I was thinking that would be odd to have a Optimus with super rubbery arms. Though..it would kinda of be funny to see xD.Also, Revoltech's robots and now even their monster lines are very cool! They have a bit more grit to them then compared to the usual sleek of Figma figures, which I do like.

It really depends on which series you collect. They have the anime series which is the robots & all others. The Yamaguchi line which is a deluxe line of robots and the movie line which is all movies including Iron Man, Spider Man, Predator, aliens, etc. Some of the movies are 6".
Oh, I forgot they also make a samurai / I guess they are buddist gods.

Take this into account with Link.
Nintendo is EXTREMELY STINGY with their liscenses. this is going to be the ONLY link figure with good articulation that has been made to date, will be the only one for a LOOONG time. If not the Only one Ever.

Anyways this is my second problem with HLJ. I POd some TFP figures but got an email way later on that they can't fulfill my order causing me not to buy it before prices skyrocketed on other sites.

Then today I tried to check the status on my Samus order but my account was suspended. WTF, I got Samus and Link on order. I never did have problems with them before. I emailed them but now gotta see what they say.

One question about figma figures. I don't own any and wanted to know if they are worth $60+ buying from a US seller? As of now just interested in Samus and Link.

They are one of the best figure series around right now. (Only thing better than Figma are 1/6 figures imo) Many of them hold their value well and are very coveted.

60 with shipping I'd say is ok. 70 is pushing it. If it's sold out everywhere, 70 plus shipping hurts but is not the worst. Some go for well over a hundred and it's not just ebay, it's everywhere.

They are also known to do re-releases of the fan favs so keep that in mind as well.

I'd bank on a Samus re-release but 60 plus shipping is normal.

Hope this helps... I bought one figma second hand and now it's definitely one of my fav lines ever. Great articulation, soft bendable parts to help with poses, comes with a stand and most have great accessories.

I'd actually not expect A Samus Reissue.

However, a Varia Suit version at a later date wouldn't surprise me.

Thanks for the input guys. I had POd it both at HLJ and at BBTS and was gonna cancel the BBTS order once I get it from HLJ or incase something like this would happened. BTW, how much were shipping for Samus from HLJ for the ones who got it there? Just wondering if it was a big savings vs BBTS. I was charged $66 to get it shipped with my PoL.

Darko99

Like Lerath said, I'd expect to see a different color suit for Samus. However, it would not surprise me if it was a Con exclusive some where.

Though...why they ever made Big-O's main character a con exclusive is beyond me...That was very off subject but yeah.

Also, Figmas are great and worth the 60+ dollars hands down. Every single one that've gotten, other than Guts, has been awesome. I just got Guts, and the ball & socket joint for his torso will not stay in without putting him on his stand.

Wow, never knew Samus was about 6" tall. I guess I'll keep my order with BBTS. Will Link be the same size or in scale with Samus? Or are they inconsistent in scale like play arts?

Link should be about proper scale, which will make him fairly short.

Samus, it is worth pointing out, is a rather tall lady. She's well over six feet tall and with the suit on she's basically a giant. Actual height ranges from source to source, but I think back in the day she was something like seven feet tall. She isn't an ordinary human after all.

Thanks, so glad that we finally get nice figures of these classic characters.

I still own the joyride Samus, too bad that figman didn't include a non helmet head with the set.

Link is way over due for a updated figure.

Anyone knows how much a figma figure shipping cost shipped to the states? Just ordered a Link, wonder if it's cheaper than buying it from BBTS.

In my experience, BBTS is a little higher than say AmiAmi, and then there's shipping. If you're on the west coast it's cool but east it's at least another 10 dollars. AmiAmi SAL registered shipping is 10-14 dollars.

On the flip side, I trust BBTS more because they're shipping from inside the states. AmiAmi, which I love and buy from regularly, are shipping from Japan with SAL which is slow or EMS which is the highest you can pay for.

AmiAmi is still cheaper if you do not mind waiting 1 to 3 weeks for SAL registered shipping. In fact, with how much sooner AmiAmi or hlj get their shipments, I bet you can ship SAL and still get it before BBTS ships theirs out.

As long as you don't mind waiting a bit, BBTS is a solid bet. It's all about preference.

Hope this helps.

Exactly! They cost a bit more, but the quality and the work they put into them is worth that extra money.

I wouldn't say they're outdated. just different.

Though I will say that the ALiens are terribly prone to joint sticking due to the transparrent plastic. with the aliens, it's best to dissassemble them completely, and then work the joints a little by hand. What's wrong with the second one you got?

yep, some are showed via a distributor (AAA) but that's all and there's no new figures, the WF is around the same time than the SDCC so they prefer to be there I guess ^^.

But with the figma Avengers coming I think they should show them at the SDCC.

They are Art Of War under Yamato:

Guts Hawk Band:

http://dennis-toys.blogspot.com/2013/01/berserk-guts-hawk-soldiers-action-figure.html

Guts Black Swordsman (2-3 versions 1 with calm face & stone backdrop box packaging 1 new crazy face bloddy carded no backdrop & another calm face special edition with stone stand):

Calm face:

Comparison of Original Statue:

Crazy face:
http://www.xl-shop.com/xlshop/pages/productDetails.asp?productId=YA-210158

They only released few figure versions of the statue, I remember Skull Knight, Ishidro, the guy that throws knives, they also had the PVC version of Griffith & Casca set. Most of them are taken from the statue mold, same size same design just with plastic material. Paint job is considered good. They also had the same mini figures which has more variants taken from the statues.

Then of course there's the epitome Art Of War statues. They usually cost $300 and above. The ones that comes with Horse is really epic.

The limited edition black full armor is also good.

I have the Griffth he is good for display.

I would say Figma has neater design & more articulation while Art Of War has more mature look and is twice the size.

Right, back on topic. Popular Revoltechs go for stupid money once they have sold out. I would say your only realtistic bet is taking you chances on feeBay. There is a shop in Japan that sells second hand figures. If I can remember where the link is, I will post it here.

I've been told that Ami Ami have also now started sellin secondhand figures, so it might be worth checking them out as well.

Amiami preowned section seems nice. I just placed an order for 5 preowned. I'll post once they arrive and let you guys know how reliable and quality they were.

I did save over 1/2 what it would have cost on the secondary market.

I love enabling. It saves me so much money.

lerath666, they will be Revoltech quality, same as any other Revoltech. Ami Ami are a well established site and wouldn't sell either knock offs or bashed up figures. They are also a Japanese site, so really wouldn't sell duds, at the risk of national stereotyping.

What did you get? I had a quick look at nearly sprung for a Danbo, but it wasn't so cheap.

The service from Ami Ami is excellent. They include an indication of the condition of the figure with the listing, so there should be no surprises there, either.

The figures scale perfectly with each other, based on the character heights from the source material.

That's great. Thanks FrankieDF. So, that's sorted then. I get the V2 Robin Mask, for reasons of patriotism as well as the fact that he is as camp as Christmas. :rotfl

i LOVE THIS THREAD!!!

Great figma figures and great photos guys! I really love this figures but I just have 3 actually, They are:

-Kanu Uncho from "Ikki Tousen", I just love how sexy and deadly she is hehehe.

-Reika from "Gantz" Anothe sexy and deadly girl, I love this one because I really like the manga and also because it was really diffiult (at least for me), to get her.

-Gally from "GUNNM Battle Angel Alita" This is my favorite Manga/Ova from all times. It is not officially a figma, but it is consider the "Figma 0". The reason is, she was designed by Masaki Apsy (designer creator of the figma series), and watching the great seller she was, Max Factory ask to improve the resistence of the figure keeping the great poseabilility, and the rest is history.

Some pics of my 3 girls:

Nice figma collections you've got there and Reika is indeed one of the fine piece never release in terms of the comic products available in the market.

I really like those black rock shooter characters released by figma and this is how I get into the game

IMO those fullmetal figures are better then the Medicom and play arts figures.

Don't get me wrong those figures look good and like them a lot, but Revoltech needs to step up their game and lose or redesign their revolver joint. I just don't understand their need to put big ball-peg ratchet joints on a figure that small. Figma and s.h. figuarts are setting new standards of what makes a figure great. Sorry for the mini rant.

p.s. The only other Revoltech I want tot get is a couple of the Ray Harryhausen skeletons.

I honestly agree, and that's why I've only bought two revoltech figures. They still look nice, but Figma and Figuarts just seem so much superior.

i understand that but revoltech is great for switching body parts since they use a standard joint which can result for some great and hilarious pics (:
