Hey guys. I just put together a vacuum pump and chamber for degassing silicone and also to attempt to eliminate bubbles in my castings. Currently I paint the resin into my mold to avoid bubbles in detailed areas, let it cure and then fill the mold the rest of the way, burping it to get the excess air out. it takes quite a while, so to remedy this I thought I could use a chamber to suck the air out of my castings, but it's only producing more air pockets and deforming the cast. Does anyone have any experience with this method and can help me? Thanks

Use the chamber to suck the air out of the resin mix before going into the mold

You then need to cast in the mold under pressure, using a compressor, not a vacuum pump..

This makes the air bubbles reduce in size, normally 50kpa is a sufficient while the resin cures.
