I had it professionally built. Not sure what they did to polish it, but it took an entire day.

That's a cool idea. Is that 1/2" thick acrylic? How much weight will a shelf hold?

They're 3/8". He said that it would hold about 8 pounds a section - but since it's going to be mainly for 1/6 - shouldn't be an issue.

looks great and very important if your using acrylic cases and light you have a clear base, i found that out that the hard way :P

There is acrylic specific polishing bars but not sure easy it is to find it, also need the pads for it and a drill and you are good to go but the edge needs to be a clean cut or sanded first

I see it is actually a whole sheet across the length so that will help but don't forget to never change up to something heavier... my 1/2" acrylic shelf still bend over time being only supported on two sides. My next version will be a full frame support but thinner acrylic
