Sorry, if this was answered somewhere else or if most of you take it for granted.
Can someone explain (or link) the process.
When someone shows one of these "digital" sculpts what are they actually showing : a cgi "drawing" of a proposed sculpt ?
Then what is "printed out" a mold to pour resin in ?

They are 3-D renderings that can later be printed out in 3-D. Think like an inkjet printer but can do a full object. The prints are then molded from which casts are made.

People normally use programs like Maya or the so popular Zbrush to create 3d objects, then they print it on special machines.

you can see the process here:

The most incredible part of this video is that the ball bearings actually move!

yes, exactly like what other bros said. 3d print is like 2d inkjet print but 3d print prints in height (or depth) also, layers by layers. This is very interesting looking at the printing process at 10x speed.

Because we do our model in a 3 dimensional environment with xyz coordinates and real world units, 3d printers can get the coordinates of the surface points and place its noozle at exact location to do the jet action.

Thank you very much. That explains it, especially the video tutorial.

ok... Now if I may follow up with some "Follow UP" questions:

Do we know for sure that this technology can be used to produce sixth scale heads ?

If see ALOT of nice images from a couple of different sculpting houses, but not much in completed projects (that I know of)

Does anyone have any IN-HAND pics ?

Does anyone
