It's totally compatible in size with Hot Toys releases..

No actually it's just an "optical effect" depending from distance of figures, etc.etc.

We always take Hot toys as "standard" for measure and mechanism because we know their product are 5 stars products :wink1:

It's for the prototype (it is used to open and close it to change the mechanism and made the tests), the legs will be in PVC, so now holes :wink1:

I do have a few questions/concerns.

1) The wrist will be bigger. The hands will be the ones in the picture.
The hand size is very similar to Hot Toys standard hands for this kind of bodies, so we feel are ok for this kind of figure.

2) As is written on the pictures the body will come HEADLESS (head is not included). So this head is just for the pictures.
We will release also a version with a NEW head. We will announce it soon

3) We are looking to release the body also in AA skin tone. But we will give extra information soon.

Ah, cool. I think the wrist pegs are the only real issue there making everything in that area look odd. That should fix that :rock

The HEADLESS version will be priced 39,90 Dollars.
Still discussing with the distributor about the price of the version with HS.

About the AA version, we really hope to release it, and if we will do it will come with an HS.. and will NOT Obama :wink1:

The only thing that has held me back from ordering the KP01A at this point is that I don't know if the ankles are compatible with the HotToys figs that I already have:dunno. It's nice to know that you will be offering cheaper Heroik bodies without the head but as far as I'm concerned I would only order the one that came with a head. Even if I didn't end up using it, it's always good to have an extra head or two available. Also looking forward to any AA versions you may release. Hi mate our figure are very compatible with hot toys.
So peg wrist and neck joint.
The size is a smilar to Slim version of Hot toys.
As you can see on the web you can find a lot of customers that are making bashing with our KP01A switching parts and dress with Hot toys

KP01A it's a bit tanned in the color, to simulate the Roman Gladiators skin tone (maybe few noticed... but a ROMAN GLADIATOR must be tanned, because fight under the sun and in the mediterranian area, and cannot be a model of a person of 1,80 height.. because the Roman 2000 years ago was around 1,60 and 1,70 height. For this reason we designed a body of 29 cm)

KP02A instead will have a color of skin quite similar to Hot Toys releases.

About an AA version for sure will come... at the moment our only limit it's money :wink1:
We are a small company, so we cannot invest in too many ideas and projects at the same time.

That's the whole point of these bodies though. You get them to conceal joints for more visible musculature, so a gaping hole in the neck would defeat the purpose of these bodies. :lecture

Well of course our Bodies (KP01A and KP02A) are compatible ONLY with Neckless headsculpts (like Hot Toys and Soldier Story)

The internal mechanism is almost identical to Hot Toys mechanism, so this guarantee a perfect compatibility.

Actually the FULL body is compatible with Hot toys.. this means that you can easly swapt hands and foot pegs, to create your own custom body :wink1:

Having just seen this a couple of weeks ago, I agree, Moma is a much better Conan then Arnold, but the movie sucked *****. The writing, directing, and editing really let down a great cast. hopefully the bad reception the film received won't stop someone from doing a better Conan movie with Moma.

So at the time of the KP02A release I am guessing they felt they needed to offer a more competitive USD price due to the poor exchange rate.

It would be interesting to see what the exchange rate was on the date that the KP01A price was set.

Looking at Euro/Dollar exchange rates, it was comparatively low in June of 2010 and high about a month ago. Timing maybe? Also, it could be simply that Kaustic wishes to make a bigger splash in America and is willing to cut margin per unit in order to sell more units to America.

Well headplay's HS have their own thread even if some suspected that HP was recasting HT heads and there is also the METAL BOSS figure thread.

I created a thread for the Headplay bodies will se if that ok or not.
The body that came with the METAL BOSS figure was regarded as a rip off Hot Toys but details like the knee joints showed that it was not also the proportions were different.

These new body may look like HT but some details might make them different too.

No mate, don't worry, as we posted several time, this Bodies are still in production, so we used our Kaustic Plastik Standard foot for the preview pictures only.
The final foots, will fit perfectly the Hot Toys Boots and Foot available for the big bodies (Hot Toys's big bodies of course).
So will be bigger then the foot of this pictures :wink1:

Mate, as we said in other forums for KP02A and Legionary we are forced to retouch a bit the prices in Europe..
Because of the VAT and because of the shipment taxes (China to USA is duty free.. China to Europe is EXPENSIVE)
And anyway is a SMALL difference.
Example Kp02a is 38 dollars.. That changed in Euro is around 30 euro..
We are selling instead a 35 Euro.. I think 5 Euro extra to cover VAT and Custom expences is quite fair ;)

So the question is: Why on KP01A and Gladiators the price was an exact conversion from Dollars to Euro?
The answer is simple... We made a mistake ;-)
And we didn't calculate on the prices the VAT and the Custom duty.
We are a young company and we are learning also from our errors..
The result is that for KP01A and Gladiators we actually LOST money in Europe.
Of course we cannot make the same error two times.. otherwise we have to close our company ;)

Anyway, please notice that EVEN if the prices are higher in Europe, we still have the CHEAPEST body in the market (in Europe too) ;)

The reason why an expression head is simple, on our previous products we had SO MANY request of persons asking: "Why a face without expression? We have too many face without expression what we need is a screaming guy."

And of course now we made an expression head everybody is asking: "Why and expression head, is much better a standard face"

An opinion to consider, with poseable figures, EXTREME expressions like this one, make it difficult to use the head in any except a very few "appropriate" poses.

A subtle, " angry" face would have worked much better.
A good example of subtle rage would be hot toys wolverine, or medicom Darth Maul.
While i can see that many felt the first head is too passive, this one goes to the other extreme and is too expressive.
somewhere in the middle would have worked wonders.
or, failing that, including a second headsculpt.

I think that kaustik team probably tested the waters before putting out this HS.
Some will be happy with that very expressive face.
Others don't.

BTW if you're looking for a long haired HS try the HT narrow one, the one with the gambit head :)

Depends on the pose. in combat, works great.
Hair is a little too... calm for the expression, however, and too "clean " looking for a barbarian.
but posed standing there, relaxed, it would look somewhat off.. or sitting, it would most certainly look off.

body language + headsculpt is key. if the facial expression, and the body language do not match up, the figure looks tar-tar.

The body is still awesome, and I'll still get one regardless, i'll just likely never use the head.

Scratch that, some repaint, and minor sculpt tweaking, it would work as a zombie.


Question to Kaustic plastic, what hands will the one with the head, AND the one without the head come with?
If the headless version is going to come wtih the same hands as the one with the head, I'll just ssave myself some money.

Still hoping to hear more movement on that fantasy figure you mentioned as well.

in all honesty fabio, the afro american hs looks okay, the likeness is def there and it does resemble terry crews but a young version, would have preferred a current vers but maybe thats what you guys were going for to dodge licensing issues and what not.

I feel like his african features need to be more prominent like the bridge of his nose needs to be wider and slightly thicker lips, his cheeks r rounded and gives him a babyface, thats why i said it seems its a young vers, it needs to be thinned out to give him that defined muscular/manly chiseled angular face. theres something about his features that makes him look a bit white too, cant pin point it, might just be that thin nose bridge lol.

This is just my humble opinion and some constructive criticism/feedback for kp, i know u guys r a new company but in the 1/6 scale world people r gonna compare hs quality to the top dogs, i do take into account that this is also not in that price range and all but just want to give u feedback so u guys can continually develop and improve as u have the potential to get up there, that being said ill still be gettin this figure and its still a great job overall. WELL DONE :)

p.s i think it was a good move to do the open mouth hs as to offer some variety to whats out there though paint apps on this proto is not that great in my opinion.

The expression for me and many others just doesn't work. You can easily find a picture of a subject with mediocre expression but that doesn't make for the best sculpt. I'm sure it's accurate, but just doesn't convey what I believe you were going for. It just needs a bit of anger to work.

And I also really like heads that convey a little emotion. If you ever get around to making a traditional Greek Hoplite in a Corinthian, I hope you do give the head sculpt some emotional character. Preferably angry with teeth showing, gritted together. The Greek and Roman figures I have look pretty boring thanks to expressionless head sculpts.

I'm sorry if you found my post offensive, but I don't sugarcoat anything and it's far from an inaccurate comparison. I think the body will be a phenomenal inclusion into the realm of 1/6 customizing and overgenerous as far as the pricing is concerned, but when making the decision to do a head like that, especially aimed at a high-end market, I can't really fathom where someone would've said, "Yup, looks great! Go with it!"

That said, you're reading more into a post that was mainly playful banter with a freak I've shared a dialogue with for many years now, than is there. :wink1:

Mate, I honestly think our company produce only high quality heads.
Maybe the picture we posted doesn't give justice at our new head (probalby would be a good idea post the same head looking by different angles) or maybe is also linked to "out of contest" picture.. Dress it as a wrestler, or as a warrior (gladiators?), or just dress it as a mercenary fighter (or even use for a Vampire or Warewolf) and you will see that you can see this headsculpt to a totally different light :wink1:

I was looking forward to the caucasian Heroik body with HS when I thought it was going to come with that first short-haired head, but now after seeing the HS that it will come with I will not be pre-ordering it. I'll probably just pre-order the headless version and use a different head on it. Still gonna order the AA version for sure though. I was looking to make a DC Atom-Smasher custom with the caucasian Heroik but the long hair and open mouth aren't what I'm looking for. I do appreciate expressive head-sculpts and I wish more companies would offer them, even as an additional portrait along with the usual passive portrait. That's usually my only complaint with my Sideshow figs, my Sideshow Maul looks weird in an action pose with that calm expression. Either way, I applaud KP for making an extreme expression HS and I hope they keep it up, unfortunately this one just isn't for me. Maybe the next one?

I just pre-ordered 1 of the screaming, 1 of the AA and 1 of the headless bodies too. I might cancel the screaming head version I pre-ordered but not quite sure yet:dunno. I have to say that the AA version looks incredibly good:clap. Some people might say it doesn't quite look enough like whatshisname, but that's not what I was looking for so it works out great for me:yess:. I just think they were trying to showcase the poseability of their bodies in that picture. I agree that it's an awkward pose, but if it can hold that kind of weird pose then it makes me feel comfortable that it will be able to take and hold the, in comparison, normal poses I might use the bodies for.

Where the hell have I been?! It's about friggin' time I can buy an affordable muscle body for all my Arnie bashes! The prices for the HT T-800 bodies are obscene and could never bring myself to drop that kind of dough on just a body. Hell, all the TT are getting out of hand as far as prices are concerned. That used to be the cool thing about the TT's back in the day, is that they were fairly cheap. They could be found found around $30 and even cheaper if you looked. Now the regular Narrow Shoulder is what, $45 at it's cheapest plus shipping. Can't wait to see this bad boy in hand. Nice work KP!

Hi Mate we are in production of KP02 body.
We have the shipment planned with the cargo for worldwide distribution at the end of April.
So it should arrive in the shop in the mid of May.


So it shouldn't be too far off now. :)

Depends where you got the jeans from, if it's nice and tight fit
Ike the HT wolverine, the chance of it go over this body is very low. But other jean from eBay, you might have a slim chance. I'm assuming this body and legs are very similar to the HT Arnold body size, so which ever fits the Arnold, should be just fine for this Heroik body..... Then again, we won't know unless it's released.

I like it a lot thou and can't wait to get the 02.

You might PM Elvis1976; he's painted a lot of bodies that I would have thought would never have taken paint well.

It's not hard to paint. Go over the body with some 2000 sandpaper to give the paint something to bite.

Very true. The only reason I didn't get the KP01A was because the ankles didn't look like they were compatible with HT. But I've got 2 of these HEROIK bodies on order, 1 caucasian and 1 AA.

I wrote Kaustic again asking how the progress is going on this since I read about a delay, here's their answer (they answer really fast BTW, got a reply in less than 4 hours):

Hi Yannick, yes we had some delay, but solved now.
The new shipment is confirmed for end of May.
Should arrive in shops mid of June.
Unfortunatelly this is a very hard and complex project, and our our is a small company.
We just want to give the best product possible to our clients!!!
So we decided to delay the release to give a perfect product!!
We are sure you will be really HAPPY of the final quality of the product!

I will tell one last time (because probably it's not clear enough).. We are NOT Hot toys
We are a small factory.
This project is probably one of the finest muscle body ever produced.
4 different kind of materials.. Nylon, Abs and Two types of PVC.
6 Sets of mold, and 6 injection machine used for production.
No other competitors in the market have a product of this level of complexity (not even Hot Toys)

Produce a good product it takes time.
It take tests and often re-tooling of the molds.
We want perfection.
So we was forced to delay till now.
We are sorry of course.. but we are working as hard as possible to let all of you have a quality product at a super good price!!
And at the end, I'm sure, that when you will see the product in your hands you will be more then happy of the delay
