Gentle Giant San Diego Comic-Con 2006 Pre-Orders
We will be taking Pre-Orders through http://www.gentlegiantltd.com/ for the following San Diego Comic-Con 2006 Exclusives:

Deluxe Shocktrooper mini bust with Shocktrooper Bust-Up - pre-order quantity - 1500 pieces
Darth Vader Fire Bust-Up - pre-order quantity - 2000 pieces
Lucius Malfoy as Death Eater mini bust - pre-order quantity - 200 pieces

*PLEASE NOTE*
The following measures are in effect in an effort to make these items widely available as possible:
*Limit one pre-order per person.
*Limit one of each item per pre-order.
*Must bring printout of Confirmation email and a valid ID to convention center to pick up order.
*Pre-Orders can only be picked up at the Gentle Giant Booth (3513) after 2pm on each day of the show, starting Thursday, July 20th.
*No pre-orders will be allowed to be picked on preview night, July 19th.
*If you already pre-ordered the exclusives, you may not get a second of any of the exclusive items, as all badges will be punched when pre-order is picked up.

Only a portion of the total edition size will be available for pre-orders. We will be selling the balance of the convention exclusives at our booth (3513) on a first come, first serve basis. Limit one of each item, per person.

An email will be sent out next week to members of our collector's club with the links for the pre-orders. If after a certain predetermined time any quantity remains we will post pre-order links on our blog. We will be taking pre-orders only next week. Any remaining quantity not sold through pre-orders will be brought to the convention for regular purchases.

Thanks so much for the offer! I think it is best for one person to handle it so that we can be sure that nobody gets left out in the crossover. It's actually a good time for me as I don't have big plans and I can pretty much sit in front of the computer and wait for the mail to arrive. If I can end up helping this many people from both this board and Rebel Scum then it will be worth it.

I really hope that they do it today!!

Just a reminder to those who are interested--this preorder is ONLY for people who will be attending. If you place an order this week, you must be present at the convention with a photo ID to pick up your order. You cannot send someone else to pick it up for you. And since GG will have your name, credit card, and shipping info from your first order and they are limited to one order per person (picked up or not) you might be keeping yourself from getting one when they put the reserved extras up for non-attendees after the show.

So don't crowd the server by ordering this week if you won't be at the show to personally pick up your order.

It is cool to hear the SW theme start playing while I'm on the computer. I know instantly that it's an email from SS.

I'm a Mac user, so I'm not sure what or if there are any programs for PC users. I would think there has to be something available. If you're a Mac user it's really easy to do and I could give you instructions. Just PM me.

Whew! Got my orders in thanks to the fine Freaks in this group. My e-mail from GG just now came through (thankfully), but I was able to place my orders beforehand with a wee bit of deductive url reasoning. Of course, I wouldn't have even known the orders were live if it weren't for all the gabbing about it online. (Huzzah for gabbing!)

Went smooth as glass (No Blackhole heartache here). Now the only SDCC exclusive I have to sweat is the Battle-damaged Cylon 12" figure at the Majestic booth...

I am sure you'll be fine as long as you only ordered one of each item, they probably just did this for ease of keeping track of the orders. I know of a few others that did the same thing as well.

I made the same mistake. I was the worried the malfoy bust may sell out and mess with the shock trooper order. Thus, I ordered the shock and then malfoy. I was concerned at first but I think we will be fine. I thought it was one pre-order per item not one pre-order for everything we will see what happens.

Student, the lower numbers are the amount of pieces they were selling through today's preorder. The larger numbers are the total edition size, including the pieces sold today, the pieces sold during the convention, and the pieces held back for sale afterwards to non-attendees.

Sorry kids! I had a two hour lunch meeting so I haven't had time to respond to my PM's. I was able to order (and I received confirmation) for the Malfoy bust. Since Lonnie was nice enough to PM the link to me first, he gets his choice for the recipient....who is Darth Loki.

I have a Lucius bust pre-ordered through some site, I can't even remember right now. But I got the last one he had up for pre-order so my chances are pretty slim of getting that one as well. If I do, it's all Dave's. Unfortunately I probably won't know until after the con so hopefully someone is able to get him one.

But they weren't event exclusives, which means that while there will be more available, you are going to have to get them off the secondary market and will pay more. I got my Utapau Clone for less than retail and I'm glad that I did!

Sorry. I wasn't accurate there. You are right, Gentle Giant will make some available after the convention, so they will not all be picked up through the secondary market by the non-attendees. I was just thinking about getting them through retailers with discounts, which won't be possible. But no, they won't all be on the secondary market. I fully expect about 500 (give or take a few for the people who got the special deal after the BHS trauma) to be sold through their site in August. So folks will have about the same chances as with the Blackhole Trooper bust.

Gentle Giant sold the leftover BHT busts on thier site, they didn't hold them to sell.

The same will be with these, if they sell out at the con then they are gone. They do not hold extra items they only offer for sale whatever happens to be not purchased.

I have a feeling that both SW pieces will be offered but not the Malfoy.
