Well, we've waited long enough! I finally convinced my sculpting friend Nikolas Dresios from Greece to start on this for me. I've got to have a Walter figure for my collection! I've also asked him to work on Olivia and Peter when this one is finished. I'm trying to convince him that there is interest for this head within the collecting world. Please help me show him that there are people pout there that love Fringe! If I can swing it, I would like for him to offer Walter by himself and a twin pack with both Olivia and Peter. Also, Walternate and Fauxlivia. Think of the possibilities.

Here's a WIP photo. He says that there is still a lot of work to do, but I think it looks fabulous so far!

please let us know what you think and post if interested so I can convince him to mold and produce some heads for us! Thanks.

I need a Walter too! I'm in for sure. Definitely have been wanting to get a thread going for a Walter.

I'd have to see a final version before deciding, but I'm interested in the character. Wouldn't mind Peter and Olivia as well.

I'm definitely interested. Any chance he could do a long haired version so us LOTR fans can have a Denethor? That's likely where I'd be putting this to use (much as I love Fringe).

You could just dremel down the hair and get a grey wig to do that. I'd prefer the fringe version myself.

Looking good. Sometimes I really hate this hobby. I don't need this sculpt but in case I do I might get one even just to have it.

I need it! Walter Bishop has quickly become one of my favorite TV characters of all-time.

And to think I absolutely HATED John Noble's Denethor.

Just goes to show how good of an actor he is I suppose :lol

it's difficult to explain in fact , it's something i want to have not want to do
be amaze when i see the final sculpt, when i'm sculpt a head i see it growe in my hand and i'm generally not amazed by my staff

so a character like walter bishop, i want the pleasure to discover him, to say WWWOOOOOOWWW what an amazing sculpt

i can't say that or feeling that if i do it by myself, maybe i can sculpt with eyes closed but not sure of the results :D

hope you understand it's difficult to explain in french so in english:slap

I understand. I sometimes feel the same way when making customs. There is just a wow factor when you just get a finished figure instead of slowly making it yourself.

But trust me, your sculpts definately have that WOW!

Aren't your sculpt more stylized/animated anyway Hanouman? ..could it be more the case of your just not as interested in doing realistic portraits?

Watching this thread with interest. The Fringe team would look great displayed with the X-Files characters. The sculpt is looking good, but one thing concerns me. Unless this sculptor has very small hands that head looks like it could be too big for 1/6th scale. Any way of getting a picture of the sculpt next to a familiar 1/6th scale head to get an idea of scale?

marker2037
12-20-2011, 02:11 PM
Maybe he shrinks it in the casting stage, but I see what you mean.

justinbf
12-20-2011, 05:39 PM
Yes. Nikolas let me know that he sculpts in a larger scale in order to capture more detail and then he uses a special shrinkage technique to make the head perfect size for a 12 inch figure. Trust me, this guy knows his stuff. He has done special effects for several movies and sculpts for a living.
