Now the bad news. After letting you have your independence 230 years ago and then giving you nearly a hundred years in charge of the family firm (the world!!) we have decided you haven't quite come up to scratch, so we're going to rein you in and are taking you back into the Empire.
The deal is this:
you get: tradition, France as a neighbor, the biggest Disney Park in Europe, totally full of Castles, cute villages and comedy transport systems, policemen with "booby" helmets and no guns, a real Royal Family including a British Queen who is not a gay Shakespearian actor/ popstar/TV personality instead of George W., we'll even throw in Tony Blair and Maggie Thatcher as we don't need them any more.

Oh and you get Madonna back (sorry!)

We get: an army, navy and an air force, listened to again, and sportsmen and women who actually go out and win things.
