this is the weapon of my favorite Jedi and actor: Mace Windu / Samuel Jackson. there is a cool story behind this as well. in 2003 when this was released i was in the hospital. i had to sneak out of my room at 1:00am to pre-order this from MR website. while i was there, the nurse came by my room to check on me and found me not there. she reported me to the NCO on duty that i was AWOL and they began searching for me. when i came back to my room they all couldnt believe i snuck out of my room to go play on the internet. oops, here's the pic:

In terms of rarity, either my Padme maquette, my upcoming Gray Hulk or my Museum Collection Glamdring sword of Gandalf.
I can't choose just one favorite piece but my Doom PF Ex is one I am VERY glad I picked up. In my eyes, much better than the much praised Predator maquette or the Grievous PF.

Good Lord? Is that The Pitt?
I haven't seen that guy in a looong time.
If it is The Pitt, then this is a character from Image Comics inaugeral line-up that included Shadowhawk, WildC.A.T.s, Savage Dragon, and, of course, Spawn.
The series was plagued by delays. I've never seen this statue before. Cool.

Usually when people use the term "grail," they mean that which they seek. We seem to be thinking like the protectors of the Grail, sharing our most prized pieces. Cool thread either way.
Of my existing collection, this is my grail. Though this photo is not mine, mine looks exactly like the one in the picture because it was not mass-produced:
http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i24/Gruff_Old_Bear/BBoard%20Pix/ArnieGODBL.jpg
On the seeking side of the equation, well, there's always the one that got away. What was I thinking?

Can you give me a little info on this one?.. Thanks.:emperor
:lol like CustomMikey and DarkArtist said. It is the Pitt. The statue was done by Clayburn Moore, limited to I believe 30, but i could be wrong. The comic book had only about 25 issues. There were only about 3 issues per year  I have the regular statue.

Nice thread!
My true grail should be here in the next couple of months. :) Full body 1/4 Queen from Aliens, over 36 inches tall and 55 inches long! I will post some pics.
For now it's just too tough of a call between T-Rex, CM Arnold, or Superman. They are all grails for me and I could never part with them.
I would probably say 1/4 Superman though. I just love it. CKING did an amazing job perfecting it and Camper's paint job brought him to life. DarkArtist, you may still have a chance to get one. There should be one on ebay at some point (from the sculptor's own collection). Good luck.
CM Indy will also be a grail piece.

Thanks. I was after this for YEARS and finally picked it up about a year and a half ago. I still get a little misty when I look at DeForest Kelly and James Doohan.
My dad was a huge Trek fan and got me into it growing up. I am almost 34 now, but was a big fan as a kid and always have been. I am still sad to see the state of the franchise these days.

Going outside the usual statue/figure area - my grail for many years was the lenticular Lost World poster. I've since scored that, so now it would probably be the lenticular Nightmare Before Christmas posters - much rarer and more expensive than Lost World though.

Nice grail though! I would love to have the lenticular posters myself! I have been a big fan of lenticular items since the old "flicker" rings of the sixties I grew up with!!!
So, if we are also posting grail items we are looking for, I want the Bronze Little Big Head sets from Toy Fair 2000 and 2001! I have a few from 2000, but would really like to get them all in their polybagged condition!

Only the eye of Sauron lights up. It's basically your ordinary Danbury Mint Barad-Dur piece. Just without nameplate and a kickass paintjob. And yep, the paintjob is made to give the illusion of glowing lava.

my grail was along those lines as well. ever since I saw the frighteners lenticular poster in 1996 I had been trying to get it. I finally aquired that poster last year. I also have the two nightmare before christmas lenticulars. One day I am going to get lightboxes for those so they can be displayed properly. Without a lightbox the nightmare before christmas posters look like a black piece of plexiglass.

Also, the eventual 1/6 scale Bespin Luke from Sideshow. I might even want this more than the PF due to the connection 1/6 scale figures have with Kenner's original 12 inch action figures. Throw this pic of Luke aiming at the camera (my favorite image captured in the Topps trading cards) somewhere on the box and I'll experience collecting nirvana.

But if we're talking about toys - this is mine:
http://www.signalburst.org/tintruong/1978_Alien.jpg
It's a 1978 Alien. It is in MINT condition - with all of it's parts - original dome, center rear spike, perfect glow-in-the-dark skull paint, working jaw mechanism, and original and tight joint ligaments. I also have the original box stored flat in my closet. The smaller figure is the Kenner figure from the mid 90s.
But it will soon be eclipsed by my TRUE Holy Grail. You will hear about it in the press when I'm finished with it and it is released in about a year from now. :)

yeah but that standard base does not fit the scene or any scene at all. The casted base can be customized in order to look like a forest scene or what not.

Thanks! And I've heard about the insert poster, too. But mine didn't have it - just a little insert with instructions. I didn't know about the poster when I bought it. So maybe the previous owner kept it - or it never had one.
The rumor I heard is that it's a repro of the "In Space - No One Can Hear You Scream" poster.
But I can't confirm for you.

Was it a mini reproduction of the movie poster? Coolest poster ever - btw.
I remember seeing the movie poster when I was little - before I saw the movie - and it terrified me even though all it shows is the egg cracking. And the trailer that uses the same concept was just psychologically jarring.
They don't make trailers like that anymore. Simple, but so effective.

I see. That's a commission project that I initiated with him about 2 years back. It is build on Medicom RAH body with completely new sculpted muscle and casted in rubber I believe, so it is a bit...soft..:lol
Maybe it matches very slightly not that well and the picture magnifies it, but the eye frames looks fine and unnoticeable in person.

Tinister, No I personally didn't attend the convention. Because during that time I was launching my new business. I hired an agent in Tokyo to handle that affair in my behalf. No unfortunately we were unsuccessful in obtainging the other two figures.
As far as the current value of the Kaneda figure today, it's in the very high, four figure ($) range!

I have this figure as well. I was able to snag 3 sets back in August 20 of 2000. At it's peak Kaneda has sold for pretty much 2K USD I'm not sure what it would go for now as I haven't seen one for sale in years. Many of the older grail pcs of Medicom (Shocker Rider #1, Terry Eaton, Pink Devilman, etc) have dropped significantly in value tho. As Kaneda will probably never be produced again judging from the relationship of Otomo and Medicom from where I left left off those yrs back this figure will proably not fall in value as it's other "Grail" brothers. The Soldiers "Kou" and "Otsu" each limited to 150 pcs dont go for as much. I've seen them sell for as low as $250 USD a couple of yrs back. I only have 1 set now since I sold the other 2 sets yrs back but dont have the heart to open them because of how rare they are as the packaging is not collector friendly :(

I don't know if I have one item that towers above the others. Most of my Grails are things I've wanted in different stages of my life and had to wait/hunt for.
I've done pretty well with getting them...(eventually!)
Growing up, till about my mid twenties, my Holy Grails were these:
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b263/aaaaaaaaaa123/WELCOME-POSTER-ATTACK.gif
The Mego/Denys Fisher Doctor Who line, which I finally got thanks to the creation of E-Bay! I never though I'd have them.
Sideshow has really satiated a lot of wants with Buffy and 007, and now the Dead. Patient Zero was this years Holy Grail, and I made a pretty decent Kolchak custom I always wanted to go along with my Sideshow stuff that I'm pretty happy with (I'm a bastard to please when I make things myself, so It's a surprise I could make one I was happy with!)
I guess my next holy grail, (yet to be made, though I am optamistically hopeful), is a 1/6th Tall Man from Phantasm. Boyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

Wow, "Darklord Dave"! Where did you get that awesome Christopher Reeve as Superman? I'm trying to get one from a seller on eBay, Alex Rojas. He's a great customizer who's making one for me. I love the headsculpt on yours. Looks just like Chris Reeve to me! Please let me know where you got yours! Did you have it custom made? If so, who did it? I'd appreciate it if you replied here on this thread, or sent me a private message about it. Thanks!

It's a Medicom Wolverine with the Popsulate Terminator 3 clothes on.
Improves the look since the Medi Wolverine looks as bad as the Toy Biz Famous Covers.

Captain Faramir
06-05-2007, 10:26 PM
Uh oh. Don't get me started!
In a very brief statement which will never do justice to Faramir, he has always been my fictional hero. He's strong, brave, a mighty leader but a loving captain, and his sense of honor and virtue is stronger than his desire for power, as his rejection of the ring (in the book) shows. He is never appreciated but serves with total loyalty anyway, and despite his father's scorn he fulfils his duties out of real love. He's perceptive, wise, and noble--he's a warrior who doesn't seek war, and a leader who seeks not power. For me he embodies everything good--plus he's got the coolest outfit ever, and he just looks cool--the makeup and costume they made for David Wenham is my favorite look in all the movies. He's learned, gentle, strong, cunning, virtuous . . .
Shall I go on? :D

My grail is being protected by my PF Hulk . . .
http://img503.imageshack.us/img503/33/hulksolarpenguinhs3.jpg
It is a Solar penguin statue . . . there were only 30 of them made . . .They were sculpted by Sean Chen for Valiant Fans over at the valiantfans.com site . .
I guess this is actually a “group grail” as he also sculpted the Solar statue and the other 2 penguins here . . .
http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/8426/solarwpengsna6.png
I was lucky enough to get the other sculpts (also limited to about 30 pieces) but the Solar was incredibly difficult . . . no one wants to sell theirs . . . .
(this probably only means something to Valiant fans . . . so I included the Hulk PF for non-Valiant fans . . .:) )

Well, here's my "holy grail"! It sounds kinda ironic that my "holy grail" is my custom Indiana Jones. After years and years of wanting the Kenner Indiana Jones 12" figure, I'm very happy having my own custom one that I made. But I cannot take total credit for it all! I got lots of help from a great customzer and friend on eBay, Mary Lacour. She is eBay seller "mpl59". She hand-made Indy's gear. She made his belt, holster, pistol, whip (made from real leather and it actually does "crack"), gas mask shoulder bag, and all of his artifacts. The golden idol and sandbag from Raiders, the three Sankara stones from Temple Of Doom, and the holy grail cup from The Last Crusade. Oh yeah, I almost forgot. She made Indy's fedora hat, and painted it with that nice "worn out" look. I got a custom head from Lonnie Hale aka eBay seller "tk570" and painted it myself. I got Indy's jacket, pants and boots from an existing G.I. Joe Tuskeegee Airman 12" figure. Yeah, the jacket isn't totally movie accurate, but I'll get a better one someday. I have since taken the snap buttons off of the jacket to try and make it look more accurate to the one Indy wore. But, I realize that Indy's jacket didn't have the elastic waistband or elastic cuffs on the sleeves. I may get the "Relic Hunter" jacket I see on eBay all the time. Check out the pictures and let me know what you think! I'm very proud of it! It truly is the "crown jewel" or "holy grail" of my entire toy collection!
I will buy a 12" Indy if Hot Toys or Sidesohow or Medicom finally makes one, but I'll always love my custom Indy!

That takes me back to the early nineties! Loved Valiant until Shooter left. Still supported them. Even followed them through Acclaim and it still bugs me that they died right after Shooter returned -- halfway through his Unity 2000 mini-series.
Really nice piece.
