LOOK at those sculpt pics! Its a 1:1 scale Frankenstein Monster!!! Mr. Hill just sculpted the Ardeth Bey for SS. Could he be the sculptor for Frankie? could Frankie be the next to come to life after Bela? Only The Shadow Knows! If not, then at least we get to look at a talented sculptor's website. What prompted me to look for his website was the link on the Gogos style Frankie. I saw a Wolfman bust that I thought for sure was sculpted by Hill. I was right! Now I gotta buy one because it totally rocks and would be a thrill to paint!!! :chew :chew :chew :chew :chew :chew

He also has Talbot and the Wolfman so I'm not sure. I could see a 1:1 Wolfman, but not Talbot. It might just be a conisidense. I doubt Sideshow would let him show pics of it if he was really doing it for Sideshow.

You are probably right buttmunch...but imagine the possibilites! :monkey5 :monkey5 I am just doing my part to stoke the fires of Universal Monsters collecting sso I can continue to get new SS products.:chew :chew
He states at his website that the Talbot is 1/2 scale and its a series he is working on. I wonder if they will be available commercially. I am going to Universal Studios in December and that would be soooooo cool to pick up as a souvenir. Mike Hill is probably my favorite sculptor out there. He is also a really nice guy who takes the time to talk to his fans. So if nothing else I introduced some SS fans to Mr. Hill's website. If you go to the "news" section on his site he has a lifesize full body Frankenstein he is sculpting. I wish I could get ahold of something like that...but alas I am extremely financially challenged thanks to SS!!!!!:lol

I've mentioned in a couple of other posts that I would really like a bust of the Monster from Bride. The exposed clamps, scars and burns, singed hair, distressed clothing, all the right ingredients for a mixed media masterpiece. You know... Howard Studios recently completed a BoF bust, which is now painted and proudly displayed on their home page (http://www.howardsstudios.com/)... Nah. That confidentiality thing, again.
This is a hard line to figure, release-wise. When Ardeth Bey was announced, I thought we might initially see characters that were not yet produced as PFs. Then along comes Dracula. (Albeit without his CAPE AND MEDALLION! CAPE AND MEDALLION!! CAPE AND MEDALLION!!!) How about a bust of the Monster as he appeared in the early makeup tests for Frankenstein:

And I know you'll love this one, Anton (Bobble-Hater): Kerry Gammil's (http://gammillustrations.bizland.com/) incredible imagining of what Lon Chaney, Sr.'s makeup for the Monster might have looked like:

I like that Chaney/Frankie combo imagi-pic. Its really swell. Kinda makes you wonder what couldve been had the Man of 1000 face lived just awhile longer.:monkey2
I hope they only make one Frankenstein 1:1 bust though. They really went overboard on the 12" figures. I think that a prime candidiate for the 1:1 treatment is definitely how the Monster looked in Bride. But for the more iconic look let's stick to the original. Since theyre $100's of dollars apiece though...there can be only one. Is this monkey constipated?:monkey4

Sorry FF, I have to agree with Anton; I want the original Monster. Just like he looked after backing through the door, turning to face the camera, and then the zoom in! That has always been my "iconic" image of the Monster! Just like in The Mummy when the camera first zooms in on Ardeth Bey's eyes! And we pretty much got that one, so here's hoping for the same with the Monster!!!
While we're on the subject, my preferred Dracula would have had him with the wry smile and almost twinkle in his eye; for some reason when Bela did that he was always creepier than when he tried to look menacing. For the Wolf Man, it would be that zoom in thing again just after the transformation! Universal did the dramatic zoom (not really a zoom, but I don't know what to call it) pretty darn good! The Phantom would have to be either just after the unmasking, or his look while he was manically laughing! The Creature... anything!!!! The Bride; hissing at the Monster!
Hmmm? I may have to go do some research and find just the right images for my "perfect" 1:1 busts!!! :lol I smell a new thread brewing!!!

I'm a bit biased since Bride is my favorite film in the Frankenstein series, if not my favorite Universal picture, period. I think there is room for both, and justifiably so, as the Monster's makeups are so distinctively different in, and unique to, each film.

As far as that early makeup test is concerned, I just think it's a cool alternative look and would make an interesting piece, if only for its curiosity factor.
In terms of iconic, it could be argued that the most common image of the Monster's visage belongs to Glenn Strange, thanks to Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein, Aurora model kit box art, Famous Monsters of Filmland covers, Halloween deco, etc.

Don't get me wrong — I definitely want a 1:1 bust of Karloff's Monster from Frankenstein — but on my shelf, at least, I'd happily make room for more. What they hey, throw in the big guy from Son of Frankenstein, too.
