I feel for those that got Predator, Grievous and are going to SDCC. Although great pieces, that's easily $3,000 bucks right there. Then you get the charge for HulkVsSpidey (some of us are getting both) and is time to ask for a small loan.

It's already sold for that before and more actually. One was even over $1600.

If I had one to sell it wouldn't go for less then $1500, but thats just what I would think a bad ass light up Hulk/Spidey statue with that small of a edition to be worth.

On the same hand I would expect to pay that as well if I wanted to buy one on the secondary market.

Only at $350 with four days left. I shall be watching this one...

I think that there can only be so many people out there willing to pay that kind of money for this thing.

I am also interested in how the seller is going to ship something that big and heavy for only $22. I am guessing that it will be oversized and cost at least $30 to ship, probably more.

SolidLiquidFox
06-29-2006, 01:46 PM
The $22 shipping is chump change when you are making almost $1,000 in profit.

I wonder how much the reserve is on that $350 initial bid.

I think I agree with you there. I just had to play catch up with the GG Clone Wars maquettes after getting a late start, and the completist in me was willing to pay just about anything towards the end to get those last few pieces. With only 50 Hulks to go around, they will ultimately end up in the hands of collectors and become dang near impossible to purchase without a large amount of cash. I suppose that those who are scoffing at the $1500 sales might one day look back and consider that to be not such a bad deal...

There seems to be a more ambitious auction up for $1600. It's the only Gray Hulk up. That accounts for about 7 or 8 up on ebay since this was announced. I guess prices will climb up as there are less that are up for sale.

I also don't have much luck with low numbers. I own some in the 20's: Popbot Ex, Sideshow Hardcover Vol. 9...Betty Boop Blurple in the 30's....

Sauron is #87 which was the age of Aragorn as mentioned in the Two Towers extended DVD scene. I take certain pride on that one as is the only Weta piece I kept. The bigger the edition size the lower the odds of you getting a low number. Sauron is pretty high.

Sounds like you have some low numbers there!

I also have a few, but they were purchased on the secondary market, and chosen because of their low numbers. And I received Sauron's Mace #0035/3500 as a birthday gift this year. I had about a 40% chance of double digits with the Han PF since there were only 250 made (I got #200). I never thought Sideshow would actually ship me a double digit number, but after a few years it finally happened with Aragorn #47 and Obi-Wan #60.

I still don't have a single digit numbered piece, though...

So did you get it yet Tom?

Mine will hopefully be waiting for me when I get home tonight around 10:30 or so. I really hope so--but most of the time, if the package doesn't get delivered between 10 and 11 AM (the usual time where he hits my neighborhood on the route) that means that there has been a delay. It happens now and then. The good thing is that it hit Fresno and is out for delivery. But it could be a different truck or something, and they do deliver until around 7 or 8. Doesn't really matter since I'm not there to open it, as long as it gets there some time today and is waiting for me when I get home.

But it has been a test of my patience being in the same room as a Gray Hulk that isn't mine...

The color looks really good. I just went over and looked again and noticed that the gray tends to bleed onto the torn white shirt in quite a few areas. It looks like some were supposed to be holes in the shirt but other areas the gray paint clearly overlaps the white parts of the shirt. Not bad and really only noticeable if you are looking closely at it.

I'm going to upload my pics and will post if a few minutes. I'll apologize now because my picture taking is horrible.

And there's nothing I can do
Though I'm past one hundred thousand miles
I'm feeling very still

Thanks for the song!

I'll be home soon...

And I have happy news.

You're very welcome, Thomas-san. Happy news, you say...?

Summer lovin' had me a blast - summer lovin', happened so fast
I met a girl crazy for me - I met a boy, cute as can be
Summer days driftin' away, to uh-oh those summer nights
Tell me more, tell me more, did you get very far?
Tell me more, tell me more, like, does he have a car?
She swam by me, she got a cramp - he went by me, got my suit damp
I saved her life, she nearly drowned - he showed off, splashing around
Summer sun, something's begun, but uh-oh those summer nights
Tell me more, tell me more, was it love at first sight?
Tell me more, tell me more, did she put up a fight?
Took her bowlin' in the Arcade - we went strollin', drank lemonade
We made out under the dock - we stayed out until ten o'clock
Summer fling don't mean a thing, but uh-oh those summer nights
Tell me more, tell me more, that you don't got her preg
Tell me more, tell me more, cause he sounds like a drag
He got friendly, holdin' my hand - well she got friendly, down in the
sand
He was sweet, just turned eighteen - well she was good, you know what I
mean
Summer heat, boy and girl meet, but uh-oh those summer nights
Tell me more, tell me more, how much dough did he spend?
Tell me more, tell me more, could she get me a friend?
It turned colder, that's where it ends - so I told her we'd still be
friends
Then we made our true love vow - wonder what she's doin' now
Summer dreams ripped at the seams, but oh, those summer nights
Tell me more, tell me more.

EDIT: We haven't heard from Thomas-san for a little bit here... I just realized that it's only 9:48pm there, in Calli, and he isn't off work quite yet.

Sing it, Folsom!

So, my happy news:

My buddy (fellow board member and proud owner of Gray Hulk #19) knows that I have a thing for low edition numbers, and he doesn't have any of the other VS. dioramas. Also, it was because of me that he was able to get the gray one for himself. (Working with Tom has its advantages... Not many, but there are some. For example, he also has a Blackhole Trooper Bust.) So because of all this, he has offered to trade his Hulk #19 for my Hulk #44. Hooray!

very nice, you've got all the exclusives:google
there cant be many collectors who are 3 for 3.
congrats:bow

I'll be 5 for 5 once all is said and done. (counting the new Cap Diorama)
I hope to have them all on one shelf, but we'll see how that works out.
The Wolv. vs. Sabretooth is the only one that I'd consider no big deal,
as I actually prefer the look of (and display) the masked head anyways.

Hooray!

Would he now be willing to trade his #44??? :D

They were talking about exclusives, so the Grey Hulk would make the fifth.

Gotcha. I don't have room to display both Hulks, but I will have them both anyway.

Did you get your gray yet?

When do we get pics???

When I decide which one to unpack and display! I was in a rush to post the first pictures of the piece, but now that I missed it I am going to wait to open it up until I decide which one will be on display and which one will be in the closet for a while. Hopefully, the Green will be here by this weekend.

Aren't you going to take it out to make sure everything's OK with it? Check to make sure the lights work and all?

hi js,do you mean you have the grey and green exclusives to make it to five?
i love the wolverine vs saber ex,unmasker wolvey looks meaner and chunkier
then when he's masked.only 300 people can enjoy the option.
i love the hole line equally.long may it continue:chew
